There was a little girl ...

The most difficult hair in the world, to brush. Well ... it wasn't quite an Afro, but you know what I'm saying. I don't know how she managed braids. I had nothing to do with that one. Only time I've ever seen it like that.See More

Wish I ...

You ever meet someone you wish you would have known when you were a child? Just a little more time to share? I'm not sure when this photo was taken, but I'm guessing somewhere around 1980, or just before. It's difficult to walk around with so much indignation towards the world around me, yet have so much love for another human being, in my heart of hearts. It's a constant…See More

Shaykha Pea

I called her "Pea," as I say. Still do. This is one of the first pictures she ever sent me, just following a round of chemo. I told her she looked like a Turkish Sufi mureed, and we began to discuss that. She knew some Arabic, from college, but I'd actually been an active member of a more or less traditional Sufi tariqa, with a lineage based out of Istanbul. Upon…See More

The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)

One of Kristin's all-time favorite films. It was one of the first things we ever discussed. She was terrified that something like what happened to Anna Mae Aquash was going to happen to her yet, at the same time, lived with all the fervor of a martyr saint and was quite vocal about it. Very passionate about her devotion to the Resurrection and the Saints. I could only intervene as far as she would allow me. There were others who wanted to help, as well, but ... you learn. Kristin's life was her…See More

POz3Rs.

K was very self-conscious about her appearance. At the same time, she was well aware of her beauty. I thought she was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen or heard, right off the bat, and told her often.  Anyway ... this seems like a good place to leave a few photos and stories about her. I have some art in the works, as well. Bbl.@>--.->--'----…See More

Flowers For Kristin

So, I'm pretty sure that Kris Kolb is now the most unique rock and roll journalist who ever lived. That was her nick name, in fact: "Rock & Roll Kristin". In addition to collaborating on an original album with me, posthumously, in the Rocky Mountains of Washington -- talk about "gonzo" -- Kris had a style of writing that is rarely seen, anymore. We called it "truther" journalism, not so very long ago. Although she wrote mostly for magazines and organizations long since adopted by liberal,…See More

Profile Information

About Me
I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and sort of bounced all over the place with my mom until I was about 10, when she settled on the North side of Rapid City, South Dakota. It was there that I received my first electric guitar from my new dad; a wine red, 1964 Fender Musicmaster. Now, I live on 220 acres of protected Rocky Mountain forest, in Eastern Washington state, where I currently study audio production online and gain some traction on a memorial project for my best friend, ever in the world, Kristin Kolb. We were journalists when we met. (You may remember her Counterpunch column "Daydream Nation".) We were engaged to be married when she was suddenly taken from us on March 31st, 2019. May her voice in the world never be forgotten. No AI vocal extraction was used in rendering a single phrase in this production. I managed to do it with rudimentary vocal synthesis. My mix templates are just now beginning to shape up for me, so I hope you enjoy the songs. Creator willing, there will be many more to come.
