Your Last Supper.

Swallow razors 
if you must 
for they taste sharp 
like steel blue cheese 
leaving the rarest 
aftertaste of 
 a copper tang 
upon your tongue
and do not weep
when you vomit blood
 it is all part
of the venue
on the menu of death 
self inflicted.
~ 
Climb to the top of 
twenty stories 
suck the sweet air 
and then just 
savour life 
a few moments more 
as you depart 
then listen to
each story 
spun as they go 
whispering... 
whistling 
past your ear 
all twenty of them 
as you fall to 
deepest sleep 
and close the 
final chapter 
of you 
with a vicious slam. 
it will only hurt 
with humongous agony
when you stop
~ 
But be sure 
when you sit down 
for your last supper 
at the banquet 
known as death 
that you bring 
with you an 
appetite voracious 
in it's urgings 
make certain 
that you finish 
all that's served 
at your demise 
~ 
Far too many 
planned
last suppers 
only to be 
caught with courses 
left before them 
incomplete 
now they wallow 
in asylum's 
eating foods of 
lesser grades 
and wishing they had 
cleaned their plate 
when death presented 
its last fare.
