Shades of Red.

I remember how your face turned

Shades of red when I first wooed you,

I thought my chances all were lost,

but your lovely smile broke through,

In shades of red your lips were bent

towards heaven and I knew,

that we would share the blush of love

and leave behind our blues.

Like a perfect rose you’ve

Beautified my world,

Amid the thorns……..

In a garden full of shades of blues

Where our sweet love was born,

You’re my cardinal in the Springtime

You’re my sunrise in the Summer,

In the Winter, passions shade’s of red

warm us before we slumber,

Like two maple leaves set tumbling

When Autumn comes to call,

We soar to heights that few can reach

Set free while others Fall…….

Like the finest red wine ever pressed,

your love intoxicates me,

through long workdays marooned I smile

just knowing what awaits me,

your ruby lips, eager to kiss

my weary face left flushed,

welcomes me back home from life’s demands

with love that’s never rushed.
