This is the last photo that Kristin ever sent to me. So, likely the last known, period. She was on her way to Seattle, for oncology. Very tired. She'd been running around, all over the place, trying to keep up with her busy schedule. There's a little animation that comes with the original, but I have to piece it together, frame by frame.

The mp3 file I just uploaded is a phone message just following her appointment. She's sharing some good news, thanking me for flipping the bill, and trying to address a certain "problem" which existed between us. The only real problem which ever seemed to surface, between us, was inherently connected to my distrust of the people she chose to interact with. Kristin was the type to make you soup when you were sick, even after embarrassing her in public. We're both a little guilty of that, but ... having done my time on the California coast, I was well aware of what was occurring within that network. K wasn't into drugs ... freaky boat parties, or any of that stuff. I finally just decided to let her figure it out for herself. And, she did. She was preparing to leave the island when she was so suddenly and tragically taken from us. I had found her a job at the Green Tortoise, in Seattle, where we had recently shared a bunk, for the protest against Donald Trump's inauguration. I really didn't want her there, either. You know ... nothing to do with jealousy or control. I'm streetwise. I see and hear things that others don't.
