(We were both TAG kids, as youngsters, but I wasn't interested in college classes. I did, however, live on the University of Minnesota campus, for a time, while working as a canvasser for Greenpeace, back before it became what it now is. Never stopped learning, but I was more interested in the guitar than academia, at the time.)…

This is the last photo that Kristin ever sent to me. So, likely the last known, period. She was on her way to Seattle, for oncology. Very tired. K was very self-conscious about her appearance. At the same time, she was well aware of her beauty. I thought she was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen or heard, right off the bat, and told her often.

So, I'm pretty sure that Kris Kolb is now the most unique rock and roll journalist who ever lived. That was her nick name, in fact: "Rock & Roll Kristin". In addition to collaborating on an original album with me, posthumously, in the Rocky Mountains of Washington -- talk about "gonzo" -- Kris had a style of writing that is rarely seen, anymore.
