And dried, stoned walls,
And cows behind fences.
Tractors, farmhouses,
Dungheaps, dead stumps, runners,
Walkers hand in hand...
Prams and scooters,
Horses on tight bends,
Cars too fast, cars too slow.
Pelotons.
Jokes on bikes.
"You don't like cherry pie, do you, love?"..
.."No!"..
..Do you love?..
Youngsters, oldsters, thin and fat.
Warm and cloudy.
Buses lumber on,
As pigeons swoop,
And pylons stand as six-armed giants..
Copses hint at what might've been.
Silage bags sit five rolls high.
Fire engine passing by
Telegraph poles.
