After years of touring and playing lead guitar for artists like Country Stars, Collin Raye, Jamie O'Neal and YouTube Sensation, Alex Boyé and others, Mike Paine is now sharing his own music with the world. His music has been featured on Brad Mercer’s Band’s and Fans radio show, as well as “The Iceman Cometh’s” radio show which both air worldwide in syndication.
Mike Paine’s latest release, "One Small Step," is dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing and the positive impact of space exploration. His previous release, “Back to the Country,” is an album, full of Southern Rock, Blues Rock and pop–influenced music. The title track “Back to the Country,” and follow-up track, “Stoplight Lovin’” are both toe-tapping, catchy, hook-laden tunes, already receiving radio airplay worldwide in syndication. Also receiving airplay, the great crossover ballad and forthcoming single, “Worth Waiting For.” Recorded in Nashville Tennessee, and featuring musicians from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Rogers’ Band, Willie Nelson’s band, and Luke Bryan’s band, to name a few, “Back to the Country” will take you on a journey to your musical happy place.
Born and raised in Southern California, Mike comes from a show business family including film and television actors, Vaudeville entertainers, recording artists and other professional musicians. At age 14, he bought his first guitar, a 1981 Glen Campbell signature model Ovation, from his uncle for $250; and began teaching himself to play. Not long after, he began performing his new instrument; singing and playing in front of large and small audiences.
From 2002-2005, Mike played rhythm guitar for country/pop duo, Jamie and Tanill, touring all over the state of Utah. During the following year, he performed as a solo, singer/songwriter appearing at small and large venues throughout Utah and Idaho. By the Summer of 2010, Mike was playing guitar for former American Idol contestant Anna Kaelin, supporting former Nashville Star contestant Charley Jenkins on his summer tour as the opening act.
Fast forward to present day, Mike toured with Collin Raye, filling in for his regular guitarist on a leg of the 2017 tour, then toured with Jamie O'Neal in 2018 and played for international recording artist Alex Boyé, from 2006-2018. He has also appeared as a solo artist and as a member of other bands on three of the four major television stations in Utah.
In addition to being a professional touring musician, Mike works as a recording session guitarist and has a teaching studio of over 45 students, ranging in all ages, and is the founder of GuitarUniversity.Org. Mike Paine has also appeared in lead and supporting roles in professional theatre and musical theatre productions,
Although his schedule has been busy, Mike managed to earn a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Utah, where he studied privately under guitar professors Geoffrey Miller, and Keven Johansen. He also holds an additional bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.
