Coronation.

I cuddle him in

my untrained arms

Awed by all of the wonder

that graces his face,

An extension of two souls

now tripled in flesh

Pulled free from her

wombs tight embrace.

Magi-like... his perfection

now brings me

Many moments of

endless remembrance

Tiny angel from

Heaven at long last

sent winging

to his great

Caesarean entrance….

As  attendants all

scramble to

cleanse him

of the fluids that he

was immersed in

Then he's swaddled

and crowned with

offering warmth

from the womb

 that dispersed him.

When his vitals

are checked off

in reverence

they bring him,

with assurance that

his birth is complete,

To me for delivery

to his earthly kingdom

Where I’ll lay the whole

world at his feet.

His bright eyes

gaze on me

and  they discover

His new umbilical...

one half of love’s

sweet ties that bind...

and though his vision

is not yet

developed quite as much as

 in the cradle of my

arms he’s gonna find

 Providers

who he will soon  call his Dad,

making sure that he’ll never miss

all the needs that he'll have

my tiny prince...my royal gift...

He’s a blessing we know

from the king above,

sent down to grace us

with his precious love,

he’s everything we

were  both dreaming of,

made reality

from just a wish.

Cause we both

 were told by doctors

With no ifs or

buts or maybe

That there was hardly

any chance at all

That we could ever

have a baby

But that great

physician high above

any doctors diagnosis,

Decided we were worthy of

What we both were

sure was hopeless,

and now I’m holding

the impossible

my precious son so

pure and plausible,

and though he

was a wee bit prodigal,

he’s arrived and blessed 

our hearts and souls

with love forevermore/
