Donn Jones drops smooth new R&B track ‘Leave With Me’

ATLANTA, GA – Donnavon Jones – better known by his stage name Donn Jones – is an American singer, songwriter, engineer and producer from Charleston, SC who you need to know. This fast-rising young star is bringing a new sound and style to the industry that is causing people all over the country to pay attention, and his new single “Leave With Me” is one of the hottest tracks to hit the airwaves in years.

A former airman, Jones said he first wrote the song six years ago while deployed overseas. The idea was inspired by a number of experiences from his life which he embodied into one story about a guy who locks eyes with a girl at a bar and every moment thereafter is about him trying to get her to leave the bar with him. Jones brings an R&B vibe to the track that is silky smooth and showcases his stand-out vocals on top of a killer beat.

“I have a unique voice,” Jones said. “People hear my voice and always try to say that I sound like someone, but they can never say who it is no matter how hard they think about it. That’s because I just sound like me but I have a voice that feels familiar when you hear it. Make no mistake though, I’m bringing my own style and lingo and swag and flavor. I have that Jones Juice, and no one else has that.”

Jones said he grew up surrounded by music – with a grandfather who played guitar and a mother who sang in a group. By age 12, he realized he too could make music and not long after he had older guys from his neighborhood encouraging him to write and create more and more songs. But it wasn’t until age 27 that he truly committed to doing music full time and making a career out of it.

Today, Donn Jones creates music that is classic and relatable on many levels. He makes music that can stand the test of time – people can listen to it now or 40 years from now and it will still be relatable. And throughout all of his music, he tries to reverberate one mantra to the rest of the world.

“We all have that one something that we do better than anyone else in the world. That’s our “thing”… that’s our juice!” he said. “That’s the kind of music I make. That’s how I feel about my creative process, my sound, etc. I’m talking about experiences I go through and because of that, I can write music that people can relate to all over the world because they go through the same experiences.”

The music video for “Leave With Me” will be released soon. Additionally, Jones is also hard at work on a remix for one of his previous songs called “Move That Body” which he plans to drop soon and follow with a music video later this summer.
