- Wayneroy was born on September 28th in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Wayneroy started performing at the tender age of 5. His father, Wintroy Randal, was a Musician/Engineer/Producer himself and like the saying goes "The apple never falls far from the tree" Wayneroy picked up the music like he was born to do it. He grew up in the church sitting at his mothers' feet while she sang on the church choir. At times the choir would have an abrupt ending but Wayneroy would still be singing away. Between the ages of 12-17, Wayneroy opened for some of the biggest names in gospel music, not only in the Caribbean but in the US as well. He's opened for Gospel Artists like the Great Evangelist Shirley Caesar (seen in the movie "Fighting Temptations"), Larnell Harris, The Grace Thrillers, Judy Mowatt, Papa San and Yolanda Adams and many others. In 1996, while in Louisville Kentucky for a church convention Wayneroy was approached by the Youth Musical Coordinator for the C.G.P. to actually open for Bebe and CeCe Winans in the Nation Convention in front of a crowd of over 30 thousand. It wasn't until his high school years that Wayneroy started crossing over into R&B. He would sit for hours on end after school listening to R&B acts like Boyz II Men, KC and Jojo, 112, New Edition and R. Kelly.
In 2005 Wayneroy was approached by a producer by the name of Paul Hudson who expressed interest in working with the young R&B prince. Paul invited him to the studio and gave him 3 beats which he produced and told Wayneroy to pick on and they would work on writing a song. 2 Hours after leaving the studio Wayneroy called Paul to tell him that he had picked one and just finish writing to it. Impressed, Paul invited him to record it. The very next day Wayneroy heard himself on record for the first time while his first single entitled "Don't Ever Go" was being mixed. Further impressed by his talent sign encourage him to sign with a production company he was apart of. With no hesitation Wayneroy signed to the Miami based Production Company. It was there that Wayneroy began to get deeper into writing, producing and performing and went on to open for the likes of Gyptian, Shaggy, Rik Rok, Mario, Sean Kingston and Alicia Keys to name a few.
In 2010 the production company he was signed to dissolved and Wayneroy was left to fend for himself. While at home one day he received an email from a distraught fan who express how much she enjoyed watching him perform and suggested that he put out an album. The idea was easier said than done as Wayneroy only know how to build drum tracks. Wasting no time he jumped into the studio and started teaching himself how to play the piano and whatever he didn't know he learned very quickly.
Wayneroy's debut Album 'Older than I Look' was released in April 2011, with every song on the album written and produced by Wayneroy himself. With genres including pop, rock and of course r&b the album was a major success for a first time independent artist from the Cayman Islands selling over 10,000 digital and physical copies collectively . Six singles from the album have were released and gained major spins on radio stations in the UK, Caribbean and US including Power 105.1fm in New York.
Wayneroy is currently working with a number of different producers for his second album to create a completely new sound for himself. His second album has already seen 46 songs recorded for the project. The album has no release date as yet but it is promised to be something exceptional.
