- About Me
- Shadow of the Reign was conceived as an experimental heavy metal recording project by vocalist and producer J. Kasperowicz in 2004. Kasperowicz produced a small collection of demos which, for the most part, failed to grab anyone's attention until summer of 2005. In 2005 Kasperowicz united with best friend and guitar player Jason Artz. The two recorded their first demos, "Do the World a Favor" and "The Bush Effect" and established Shadow of the Reign as a band. The Demos were well received and the two continued writing and recording. The result was an album called "What Do You Think it Means?" which, in the pairs view, never seemed complete. In 2008, after Kasperowicz ended his marriage of 5 years to an abusive and neglectful drug addict, he assumed full custody of his three children. Shadow of the Reign decided to take a break and Kasperowicz joined the Army. Shortly after Kasperowicz returned home from his military training in 2010 Shadow of the Reign began recording the album "A Glimpse of Betrayal". Despite time constraints and a few bumps in the road, the two had a blast recording it. The album was finally released in October 2012. UPDATE 2021: After about an eight year hiatus, J. Kasprowicz is currently working on a new album for Shadow of the Reign.The first single from this work in progress, "When the Smoke Clears", was released on August 1st 2021 and the second, "Get Me Outta Here!" was released on Sept 20th 2021. You can hear them on Reverb Nation, Spotify, YouTube and most other streaming services. Completion of the full album may take some time as Kasperowicz is currently on active military duty. Balancing a military career, family and music all at the same time can be challenging, but the goal is to have the album complete within the next six months.
