About Me
Our story begins in early 2009 when founding band member Thomas Zambrano was asked to produce a movie sound track for a local independent movie producer seeking classic Reggae music for his movie. By later that year, in August a newly formed group named Hoodlum Pharaohs had released their debut album titled "Who's Making Your Life Like That?". The following year in 2010 the group was then discovered in England by long time, well known scout for new music, Allen Robinson and asked to contribute this song "People Were Shouting" for his promotional compilation on the United Kingdom's White label.
Allen Robinson, has been a key player in the music industry for over thirty years. His successes in the business have gained him recognized credentials, having worked with hundreds of super acts such as David Bowie, Led Zeppelin and Tina Turner. As partner of Manchester's influential venue Electric Circus, he worked alongside a generation of musical pioneers, too numerous to mention, including: The Sex Pistols, The Jam and The Clash, Dire Straits, Motorhead, UB40, Madness, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Billy Idol, The Ramones, Chaka Khan, U2, The Buzzcocks and now Allen's newly found prize Los Angele's Reggae/Ska sensations Hoodlum Pharaohs.
Hoodlum Pharaohs second release in 2011 was fittingly titled "Sing A Forward Motion". This new release was written and produced as a concept album. The songs featured are about America's struggling working class and the many adversities it faced during the nations hard economic crisis and includes their classic hit track (sent to you for airplay) titled "People Were Shouting". The video for this catchy foot stomping Alternative/Reggae pop classic was recently made available by The NME for it's international audience of eager viewers thirsting for a glimpse at the magazines most famous attribute, THE NEXT BIG THING.

WHY PLAY 'PEOPLE WERE SHOUTING'?: If you are attracted to infectious emotionally driven guitar licks and seduced by unforgettable fanfares of horns. If you've ever fallen for hypnotic Reggae dance rhythms and socially aware poetry that stimulates your awareness and sense of savvy with soulful wit, then we recommend this powerful song and video for your wide listening audience. This song was written for all walks of life, races, ages, view points, careers, educations and the list goes on and on. Everyone will relate to and enjoy this very special and well presented commentary put to energetic music that originated in the same streets and neighborhoods that make up the backbone of our society and local communities from east coast to west coast, Alaska and Hawaii. Brought to you by this very talented and inspired group of young musicians, Hoodlum Pharaohs.
UNIQUENESS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Unlike your usual band on any given Friday or Saturday night that's playing at your local clubs, pubs and collage social spots. The musicians that are part of Hoodlum Pharaohs gifted line up, do not record or produce music in the traditional manner. Unlike most bands that spend months and even years in rehearsal studios practicing and perfecting songs until they feel safe enough to finally record them or present them live. By contrast, Hoodlum Pharaohs producer and lead session player Thomas Zambrano has invented a new production technique specifically to re-invent the way music is composed and recorded so that composing and recording are combined together at the same time, note for note; second by second. This unique technique is call C,R & R (compose, record and release) Every note from beginning note to end note is improvised from scratch without any rehearsals, prewritten chord charts, or pryer composition from a past session. This is true for ALL participating musicians, mixing sessions, arrangements, melodies, harmonies, lyrics, vocal styles, moods, atmospheres, rhythm sections, horn sections, chord progressions or any other instruments such as percussion sets, harmonica, synthesizer programing or playing. That's pure improvisation on all known performances and recordings where Hoodlum Pharaohs claims ownership of both production and composition.
This unique technique was invented so that the members of the group could create meaningful final recordings of complete compositions that have been developed on the spot through improvisation for the sake of retaining pure spontaneity and original integrity. With this technique the group can easily record audience ready material without losing any qualities that are so vital to attracting a pop song audience without wasting months if not years to distribute a final recording that is ready to be listened to by fans. Generally most recordings are finished and then mastered for CD production and distribution within 48-72 hours. This method also increases the amount of time that can be spent growing the groups catalog of ready to distribute material instead of wasting vast amounts of time redeveloping music in a rehearsal space over and over using current methods before any music reaches the intended listener.
Thank you.
