I am a Musician, Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter, Engineer, Producer, Photographer, Director, DJ, CEO, Music Archivist, Fan, Human.
The pseudonym, Django Bones, was created in 2008. "Django" came from a song titled "Django" by Rancid and "Bones" came from a song titled "Dr.Bones" by Cherry Poppin' Daddies.
I feel those 2 songs best represented my persona (even though there are 1,000 of songs I love and could use still to this day) and around 2009, Brigade Records, was when I developed
a more concrete concept for what I wanted to do in the artistic world, local music scene, and industries. The concept was anybody that creates art through any avenue, I wanted in my opinion
the best of the best under the same roof. Just putting all these different people on that most would never look at. Got to love those underdogs! So, "Brigade Records" is "The Brigade" and
instead of it starting out as a DIY label it has grown to be an "artistic collective".

I'm a huge fan of different genres and even though we hate labeling our art it does help people identify with the style so they can search for similar style artists of the same caliber.
Genres I listen to/identify with: Punk, Alternative, Blues, Garage Rock, Indie, Post-Punk, Avant Garde, Noise, Drone, Shoegaze, Ambient, Dream Pop, Slowcore, Chillwave, Metal, Grunge, Hip Hop,
R&B, Soul, Jazz, Trip Hop, Ska, Lo-Fi, Reggae, Elevator, Industrial, Grindcore, Doom Metal, Bossa Nova, Acid Jazz, Funk, Neo-Soul, Stoner Rock, Sludge, Christian Rock, Psychedelic, Hardcore,
Math Rock, Progressive Metal, and way too many to put but other words I love A LOT.

Clean & Dirty, Perfection & Imperfection, Raw & Polished Up, Sick & Cool, Smooth & Rough, Hot & Cold, In & Out. However it goes down is however I'll take my music. Passion makes perfect; not practice.
I like to put the ART in HEART and if I never use it when I'm being creative, the real beauty can't be shown and the true sound of my soul can't be heard. I'm all about showing my true, raw emotions
regardless of which emotion it is. Vulnerability is hard to deal with so most times I choose to attck the monster & aim for the throat. Share with one another, Create with one another, and Love one another!!!

R.I.P., SCOTT TUCHBAND (1952 - 2024)

In 1976, I, Elliott Michaels, sang and played organ in a Brooklyn band known as FIREFLY. After months of speculation, it has become apparent to me that Firefly founder and my friend and musical collaborator SCOTT TUCHBAND has finally died, succumbing to a number of illnesses. Mr. Tuchband co-wrote most of the original songs we played in Firefly, in collaboration with his friend and neighbor Joseph Bolnick. Scott went on to play in a number of other bands and musical groups such as Kashmir,…See More
