You can break the cycle. YOU, yes you. It’s so easy for the victim to become the victimizer. Honestly I know this first hand.
In the third grade I was given the opportunity to go to a school in Hollywood California called “The Open School”. A hand full of us from South Central L.A. got bussed out there everyday, to attend this elementary school. We went to school with all the childhood stars of the mid-80’s. It was a total culture shock for us.
We were picked on and belittled, aka bullied. We were the poor kids from the worst part of town, and daily we were reminded of that. Anyhow, by the grace of God I made it through those two tuff years, and in the fifth grade we moved so I got to go back to a school in my neighborhood.
That experience has truly shaped how I strive to love on people today. I actually thank God for it because I have compassion for the ‘underdog’. It would’ve been easy and even justifiable, maybe, for me to be this big bad bully as a result. However God has did with me the complete opposite. I pray you don’t allow the persons who may have hurt you to make you take it out on others. Be and do the opposite. And I believe you will be richly blessed because of it. Just look at what God has done with me.....
