SHEEEEEESHHH! WE GOT AN INTERVIEW WITH 4KG AND JUSTYLER! LETS GET INTO IT!

How did each of you come up with your name?

4Kg: “I got the name 4Kg when I was a freshmen in high school and had my had shaved with a razor. They were practicing shot-putt with a women’s shot-putt behind the bleachers I was sitting on (women’s shot weighs 8lbs or 4 kilograms which is stamped on the steel ball with a 4Kg. The shot-putt strayed over the bleachers and hit me on top of the head and imprinted 4Kg on my head. So ever since then everyone has called me 4Kg and when I started rapping a couple years later I figured it was just natural to use my nickname. JusTyler came from Tyler just being who he is and he wasn’t really going to do music until I heard him rap and told him he had to get in the studio. We talked about different names and he said “I think I’m gonna be JusTyler” and that sounded perfect to me and it just stuck.”

Are you both of your hometowns in Arkansas?

JusTyler: “Yeah, I’m from Siloam Springs and 4Kg is from West Fork. We met when I moved in next to him across the street.”

What interested you in pursuing music?

JusTyler: “Funny thing is I was never interested in pursuing music like I said before when I was in a dark place my wife wanted me to go to therapy and my mindset on that is that the therapist is only there for the money you know Me personally I feel like no one really cares so who else is going to listen to me better than myself you know so that’s when I started writing I was just getting everything off my chest if I was sad I wrote it down if I was mad I wrote it down that was my therapy Long story short I met my buddy moving across the street and I showed him some of my stuff and he liked it then he asked me if I ever thought about doing music I told him no I didn’t really care to put my stuff out there because I was just doing it for my own therapy and I feel like no one really cares anyway because nowadays no one really listens to the lyrics anymore but he was talking me into it and I thought to myself there’s people out there who feel the same way I do so whatever I put out can be a therapy for them so now I’m here.”

What interested you in pursuing music?

4Kg: “Music is everything to me. It elevates moods, heals, intensifies the hurt, and can be very powerful. I love that I can just vibe in the studio and make something that makes people happy. That’s what it’s all about.”

How old were you when you became interested in music?

JusTyler : “I’ve loved music as far as I can remember I like country music, rap ,pop, rock, classic rock, a little bit of metal pretty much everything. I remember my grandpa getting onto me because I would remember a whole song faster than I could do my homework.”

Who is your music catered to?

4Kg: “Everyone. We have a little bit of something for everyone. I would say it’s mostly for 12 to 24 year olds but a lot of the older crowd loves our music so I really think it depends on the song. Our style is very eclectic.”

JusTyler: “I don’t really know who I can say my music’s catered to my musics Kinda All over the place I like different styles so the best way I can answer that it’s catered to me. y’all can decide who my music‘s catered to”

How do you describe your music?

JusTyler: “As of right now most of my songs are sad and deep and I’m working with my buddy 4Kg so I’m trying to switch it up and try to put out some good fun vibes some trap club vibes it’s really all over the place whenever we put out music you never know what kind of vibe it’s going to be”

What has been the highlight of your career?

4Kg: “Meeting my best friend and rap partner JusTyler. I wouldn’t be back doing music if it wasn’t for him.”

JusTyler: “So far the highlight of my career is meeting my bro 4Kg I really had nothing going for me besides working so me doing music clearing my mind and doing what I like to do and trying to make a career out of it is my highlight”

So what influences did you have for your new music video and single “Sheesh”?

4Kg: ““SHEESH, The Music Video” I would say influences for this video are Lil Yachty and the “I,Spy” video if anything. I feel like the song was inspired just by us saying “Sheesh” when we see something fresh bet wanted to incorporate that fun, goofy, style into the video. Fun is the inspiration.”
