The Evolution Of Truth. 


Today I ponder Autumn leaves 
just past their tumble from the trees 
not crumbled yet beneath my feet 
as Summer sheds their bright debris. 

I pick one up, 
its scarlet splayed 
From God's great pallette 
on Earth's stage 
a humble sage, I sing it's praise 
though its beauty cannot grace this page. 

I pull another from its tomb 
its warmest yellow soothes my gloom, 
its scent perfumed with memories 
of all the seasons granted me. 

Then briefly I compare the two 
noting the differences I view 
each vein that fed them on their backs, 
all patterned in such different paths. 

Each polka dot of rot that grows 
across them as they decompose 
can never match the rest that lie 
in splendind colors as they die. 

In school they taught me Evolution 
A subject that they swear is proven, 
but these leaves bring a new conclusion, 
perhaps such theories are illusions. 

No two leaves fallen are the same, 
so how is it that they all came, 
from just one cell eons ago, 
and yet so different as they grow. 

All human beings share leaves traits 
down to each fingerprint, but wait, 
Our eye patterns and DNA 
don't match at all in anyway 

Perhaps leaves are a message to 
remember yearly....God made you 
though I am not a scientist, 
in endless leaves I ponder this. 

If ignorance is bliss then I 
will lean more towards 
my God whose wise 
and leave such facts or fiction lie 
in textbooks till the day I die 
then learn what's true 
from God's replies.
