About Me
A triple-threat artist out of the Northern Va area, Ms. Jacy Calhoun has been a force to be reckoned with since the young age of 4, starting out her musical journey at Community Baptist Church Newport, RI, singing in the children's choir. She found her love of writing song lyrics at the age of 12. She knew at a young age that she was destined for the stage.

Jacy started recording and performing in 2000 with Hip-Hop Group Alliance. Performing all over the east coast the group took off and got to share the stage with great hip hop artists such as Biz Markie, Ole Dirty Bastard from the Wu-Tang Clan, Juvenile and Lil Wayne. Being in the group Jacy honed in on perfecting her performance skill and stage presence and developing into the artist she is today. She started working on writing songs for her own debut album "Life's Lessons" which was completed in 2003 and produced by Samuel "Swiff " Thomas. She was also featured on the compilation album for Alliance Ent, "The Cometh" which was completed in 2004.

Ms. Calhoun's next project was the dynamic collaboration album "The Double Up" , with Lacey "Blaze" Hill which was completed in 2006. This sought after pair was like no other with witty rhyme schemes and beats. Everywhere The Double Up performed, people were drawn in and no one could deny these two talented individuals. Wanting to go into different directions the duo whose chemistry was affectionately compared to Salt & Peppa, parted ways and took interests in solo projects in late 2009.


To reinvent herself, Jacy decided to create a new stage persona and in early 2010 Lyric Bravado was created. Lyric is described as the no holds bar alter ego with a whole lot of sass. In 2010 she was introduced to Jamal Williams a well respected industry A&R which led to a demo recording with the talented Yountie Strickland who has produced for several major recording artists.

In 2012, Jacy Calhoun joined forces with Timeless Vision Band, A funk/soul/r&b band based out of Washington, D.C. Over the course of two years the band has performed at various nightclubs, events, and competitions.

In early 2013 Jacy was given an opportunity to live out yet another dream, acting in the awesome gospel stage play "The Other Side of Pain" written and produced by Roosevelt Jackson. Mr. Jackson also gave Ms. Calhoun a role in his independent film titled "Misconceptions of a Father".

Currently Ms. Calhoun has parted ways with Timeless Vision, wanting to focus more on getting back to writing original music and has paired up with another talented R&B singer Armon "Soulful" Meekins. Together they are working on a duo album called The Soulful Lyric Project, which will combine both of their strengths as artists, showcasing amazing vocals and songwriting capabilities.

When asked what can she bring to the music industry, Jacy has been quoted saying the following: "I want my life experiences to be heard through my lyrics so that people can identify and learn from them. I strive to inspire the younger generation of young ladies growing up, that all things are possible with a little determination and dedication."

Dabbling in all aspects of music whether its singing, rapping, recording, dancing, writing, performing, and producing, she is noticed as a well rounded and pleasantly received entertainer.
