- About Me
- I finally decided to get off my duff and do something with my songwriting in Aug., 2008. I'm now up to 70-something songs. Although I live in Michigan, I'm originally from Mesquite, TX. I'm a distant cousin of Buddy Holly and Bud Carter (Carter Steel Guitars) is my step-father. I have Christian listed as my primary genre, but I write all kinds of music. Many of my songs are now playing on internet radio stations. "Take a Chance" and "Can You Hear Me Now?" have been selected to appear on promotional CDs to showcase top upcoming songwriters. It was sent to music industry leaders and select radio stations. "Can You Hear Me Now?" won a single-song publishing contract from HitSongFinder.com. I am featured on Dream Media Enterprises and have been offered a recording contract with an indie label.
Some songs are acoustic, but I plan for future rock and pop songs to move towards a more electronic sound, kind of like Miley Cyrus meets Owl City with some Mark Lowry or Weird Al thrown in for fun. My look is artsy altered denim. Also, my husband is a VJ, so I come with my own multi-media production!
My vision is two-fold:
1. I want to write and donate music to non-profits to aid with their fundraising - some with singles, at least one with complete CDs.
2. As I begin to perform and earn royalties, I want to start my own grant-making foundation.
