About Me
While surfing through music site ReverbNation you usually find a lot of bands that just don’t have what it takes to even be in the music industry. So it’s nice when you stumble across someone with a legit amount of talent that one would actually be intrigued enough to find out more about them. This happened with Australia’s THE SHANGHAI TIMES, who are really doing some awesome tunes that any rock
and/or grunge fan would fall in love with.

On the track “Come At Me” you get this killer beginning with some intense crunchy guitars followed by a great transition into the verses led by truly driving drums. The hooks on the lyrics are great because they are easy to sing-a-long to and have every element of a hook that you would need. They have that catchy factor that you could see fans singing along to at a show.

On TST’s other new release “Antagonist” you see this pounding track that is totally head-bangable. In this we mean the guitar riffs along with the drums give you that heavy element that we all love to rock out to at a show. Notable mention is the premium vocal work laced throughout the song and ranges from very melodic to just a gritty raw rock sound with every note.

TST's newest track "Triad" is one of those jams with every element you'd look for in a rock song. It has a very power ballad type of sound that is great because it's a total sing-a-long. From the intro we find the guitar lines and strings bring you right into the first verse with a nice blend of powerful emotion. Lead singer/songwriter Darren Hardy does a great job of packing in a level of depth into his lyrical content and hits a home-run in connecting people with his words. Overlaid throughout the verses the strings, guitar and drums provide all you need to get that passionate sound. Overall TST are on point again with another great track that fans will be sure to love and that really showcases their diversity as artists.

THE SHANGHAI TIMES are one of those bands that you wish lived in your country because you know you’d get to enjoy them more often. We hope they tour the US sometime soon and look forward to their upcoming debut album release.
