- About Me
- Born into a musical family, Teresa Byrd has been gracing stages since the age of five. She sang lead with the Williams Family Gospel Quartet which toured throughout New York, South Carolina and Oklahoma. “Mom always had me and my sisters ready to perform because it seemed like everywhere we went folks would recognize our quartet and we’ve have to give impromptu performances. Although we lived in Buffalo, NY, mom always flew us to Oklahoma every summer to give her famous William’s Family Gospel Workshops.”
Teresa’s smoky vocal timbre combined with her four and a half octave range never fails to take her listeners on a stirring sometimes intimate and colorful roller coaster ride. Although her roots are in gospel music, her limitless and distinctive stylization can span across most musical genres. Teresa’s shows are an experience and she;s accustomed to hearing comments like “when you hit that high note it gave me chills” or “I was so moved by your spirit filled performance! It brought tears to my eyes.”
While stationed in Bad Kissingen, West Germany, Teresa performed regularly at NCO clubs singing for the soldiers. She currently entertains throughout North East Fl, at notable venues and charity events.
