About Me
South side Chicago inhabitant with the key to open the vortex. MC/Producer sent to hypnotize the heathens, add the hump in your hoopty, and survive the bizullshazit! Started playing the trumpet in 5th grade, thru highschools concert band, to marching band for the Tuskegee University Crimson Pipers, then Jazz band at Western Illinois. Mceeing was always a sport since junior year in high school. It was pursued until he became a member of "Infrablak". Infrablak opened up for Chicago favorite "East Of the Rock", and later on for "Rubber Room". Brother Mellstrum already had a musical ear, so he eventually picked up production in 1993 hanging around "Reg Vader", who produced EOC, and Infrablak at the time. Reg Vader couldve easily been mistaken for a "Digging in the Crates" affiliate, but since at the time Chicago was "clawing" for respect, "The Basement" suited just fine. He was the only one of few at the time, who was creating classic hip hop with natural, banging drums and jazzy riffs out of Chicago. Reg Vader was also an impeccable dj which gave his production quite the edge. This made it easy for Mellstrum to have room to find himself among the best in the basement. Other affiliates would stop by for mind blowing sessions like Emax, Dre Ski, Styxx, Eb Suede and EOCs MC T-Flux, whod be in the corner with a bass guitar playing over a beat in a separate track. Among his affiliates were the great E-Nuff Rhymeflow, Equinox, MadThinker, Mr V, Broke Pocketz: Kinetic, Ray Swoope, Knowledge Wize, Kay-One-rip, Smyfftech-rip, Chi Tha god, MicJae, DJMartyMcFly, Russoul, Blakskool, Ryan Officer, Layman, Pathfinder, Brickheadz, Precise, Big Vic, DJKMAX, DirtyCrooks, Amonrock, and many more who put Chicago on the map!
