- About Me
- MAKS is a new indie rock band from the Netherlands formed around former blues-rock drummer/singer/songwriter, Maks A.
At the moment Maks is working on the tracks for his first CD, which will be released in May 2015. He is assisted by a number of fellow artists, such as guitar player, musical sparring partner and long-time friend Peter Barnouw and blues-rock singer and Dutch guitar hero Jay Van Tuijl.
Last summer Maks A. spent 4 weeks being the stand-in drummer with the dutch blues-rock band JVT Band. They toured the USA from the Upper Peninsula to Memphis.
Especially for this tour, Maks compiled a CD, which he used in the USA as promotional item for his own band MAKS.
This CD is called “Winter In Vegas” and contains 7 tracks. Most of these tracks will also appear on the full length album that will be ready this autumn.

Maks A. was heavily influenced by 1980’s new wave bands such as Magazine, Echo and the Bunnymen, Ultravox and Gary Numan. He describes his musical style being a mix of the music of this period and the music he came to appreciate in a later stage of life: blues- and country-rock. To be precise, artists such as John Mellencamp, the Black Crowes and -very recently- the Black Keys bear Maks’ Seal Of Approval :)
Maks is now back in the recording studio again to finish his first full length album. He hopes this album will launch a “sort of” career in the music business :)
