Profile: Artist 909 Sirius B
I am a Solo Artist but have recently done some collaboration with Funkmastabuzz from Bristol and Master C aka (Mastermind).Reggae MC Phantom Magnet and Organised chaos.
I started out as a club DJ in Bristol and the Southwest. Some clubs included The Lakota, Club LOCO, and Creations Nightclub. I also I have done a few festivals such as the St Paul’s Festival, Ashton Court, Easton, Whitchurch, Southmead festival. Have shared residential nights with The Wild Bunch Crew aka Massive Attack from Bristol. I’ve Jammed in Cape Verde, Gran Canaries, Ibiza and Bali(Indonesia).
I naturally progress into producing my own music and writing my own material, inspired by Grandmaster Flash& the Furious Five, Public Enemy and Nas. The music software programs I use include Reason and Appleton.
My style of music is a cross over between Reggae, Dub Step, Rock and a bit of Classical music.
Some people who have listened to my music have commented that it sounds like movie soundtracks. And the style is dark and moody I love using synthesizers love listening to new age music such as Kraftwerk, David Bowie, and Gary Newman. I like to see my style as a bit unique trying to make Hip Hop futuristic and fusing it with reggae rock and Trip Hop.
I tend to discuss a lot of Social and Political issues, Poverty, conspiracy theories. Quite (Thought provoking stuff).
I am a Massive Star Treks fan (trekki) and a Sci -fi fan so try and incorporate these concepts into my music.
My hobbies and interest include: Football I am an avid Arsenal fan. Enjoy reading and amateur dramatics. I also do fundraising and have raised a lot of money for Dementia and Alzheimer’s. I put out a CD entitled Rat Race in 2011 and all the proceeds went towards these societies.
Where do I draw my influences from?
I love Bob Marley and The Wailers for their conscious reggae. David Bowie for his vocals, lyrics, and synthesizers, Kraftwerk . The Beatles for their ‘style’ and lyrics. The ‘Specials’ for Ska.
Korn and Rage Against the Machine for their drums , syns, stage performance and lyrics. Rap Stars Grandmaster Flash, K-Rino, Eminem,Kraftwerk,Immortal Technique.

What is your style of music?
I don't 'fit easily' into a style of music.so prefer to call it experimental. My music style is a mixture of Hip Hop,Reggae,Rock,Trip Hop,Classical Music.Mixed also with the influence of Sci Fi.
I am trying to create an elemental (Sci Fi-trip vibe). But at the same time trying to keep it real by discussing some real life events such as poverty, homelessness, religion, spirituality and the metaphysical and also personal observation such as things I've seen on TV or in a real life situations.
Who are your influences in the music industry?
Wow is there enough space here to go there. The people who influence me the most is Bob Marley with his real life observations and experiences of things that were going on in Jamaica during his era.
I've been to his houses in Kingston and St Anne's in Jamaica. His energy and presences is still there.
I love Rap group Public Enemy. Love them for their social consciousness and fat beats. Rap group Grandmaster Flash and Rapper Nas for the same reasons.
Other influences are Metal group Korn, Rage Against the Machine. Love the energy these groups bring and amazing drums and guitar hooks. Other influences are Lauren Hill, Killah Priest, Wu Tang Klan, Dead Prez, David Bowie, and The Beatles.
There are two rappers out there 'right now' that I totally love, they are Immortal Technique and the brother from another planet, who drops some sick flows and metaphors. Totally unique in style is K-Rino. He is in a league of his own. There are many more influences such as Kraftwerk but not enough time or space to discuss them.
