- Brother Calvin Allen is a Gospel songwriter/singer who has written, recorded, and distributed music on many platforms . His journey into the music world began at the age of 6, when he was given an electric guitar by his elder sister for his christmas present. During his elementary school years, Brother Calvin would sneak into his school auditorium early in the morning before school doors would open to learn to play piano. Later, while completing a tour of duty in Darmstadt Germany, he formed a band, naming the band "The Ross Allen Four," and played at many events in and around Darmstadt and other cities in Germany.
It wasn't until his move to New York in the early 80s that Brother Calvin began to feel he was gifted in writing lyrics. His first written song titled, "Problem Child," was later produced as a Weekly TV Show, titled "Problem Child 1&2. The lyrics for the song was written in studio in 15 minutes by Brother Calvin. However, in recent years, God began to give the artist melodies and gospel lyrics in his head almost weekly. He writes as many as two songs per month with melody arrangement from as he hears it in his head. All of Brother Calvin Allen song's are inspired by God.
His latest release, "Call on Jesus," is a testimony of God's grace in the life of the artist, and a message to the world proclaiming God's desire to save, deliver and redeem even the lowest of the lowest: His love for the sinner and a call to reach out to Jesus for help in all situations. Brother Calvin Allen is a writer and minister of gospel music and word, an addiction counselor, a Christian Author who's written two Christian Non-fiction books, and a lover of sinners. He's on the Pastoral Team at his local hospital, where he volunteers, praying for the sick and their families.
