When I saw you standing out
by the edge of the dance floor
with your outstanding beauty
I couldn’t just sit there wide-eyed
Ignoring a perfect goddess
who must stepped out of the sky.

I got an itch in my damn britches
and abandoned my what if’s
wearing a hole in my brain…
then I had a couple shots
to dull the facts that I was not
even close to playing in your game .

Liquid courage filled me quickly
and though I knew sometimes it tricked me
I was so damn sure that I could put
a smile on your face.

So I slipped across the floor
instead of heading for the door
cocksure and so damn eager
