This is a discussion that I have come across quite often on various websites as to where the state of music is going now or in the future.

No doubt we all agree over the years music has transformed and change so much. We can look back at how once bands actually stayed toghter, plenty of good acts and singers that actually put the time in to hone their craft.

Personally I think what changed the quality of single artist and viable groups with longevity basically comes down to numbers. Many hands in the pot now, and it's more about commercialism. Understanding that's needed to make the wheel go round but some good artist are left out.

I think now it seems that it's better to start out as an indie artist, use social media and sites that promote artist such as Poze Productions and Reverbnation. In other words work on your craft but build up the brand, that's how you build worth....self worth.
