Election night is days away and the world is watching the US democracy unravel. Never in the history of our country has our way of life been so threatened and yet there's Lil Wayne... Yep, right in the midst of it all is Lil Wayne posing for a photo op with Trump. In this strange world, we're now living in a president who's accused of racism can have a change of heart. Trump introduced the platinum deal days before the election. Vanity Fair covered the issue after Lil Wayne tweeted out

"Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus,” he wrote. “Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is the latest rapper to endorse trump and his platinum deal. Rapper Lil Pump also shared a photoshopped image of himself meeting the president and cited Biden's tax plan as why he's voting for Trump. Ice Cube recently revealed he's working with the Trump administration as well. Ice Cube stated he had been working with both parties in the election but struck a deal with the Trump administration. The Platinum Deal or Contract With Black America (CWBA), strikes at the heart of racism and presents a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice. This is how the deal is being presented. It's worth asking the question of why not roll this out last year or the year before and so forth. Why wait days before an election to roll this out? Will he go through with the deal and change the black community for the good? Will this deal like so many other of Trump's deals fall on false promises? I would hedge my bets on the latter question asked. Trump's deals always fall through and usually only end up benefiting Donald Trump. He claims to not be a politician but holds political office lol. Trump is the classic politician who promises the moon and the stars to get elected. After elected those policies and agendas seem to never materialize into much.

An asteroid is going to hit the earth a day before the election but will cause minimal damage on impact. The asteroid will cause minimal impact but feels like a bad omen. Striking the earth a day before the election night. CNN wrote about the bad omen and stated "Amid a pandemic, civil unrest and a divisive US election season, we now have an asteroid zooming toward us. On the day before the presidential vote, no less." The asteroid also known as 2018VP1 is projected to come close to Earth on November 2, according to the Center for Near-Earth Objects Studies at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The asteroid is very small, approximately 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth.

Florida-based artist BankrollShell stands out amongst a new generation of artists with recent release

Born in Sasebo, Japan, raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Shelton R. Jackson III, aka BankrollSHELL stands out amongst a new generation of artists. Displaying his creative ability as early on as eight years old, the artist found comfort and solace in expressing himself through writing. His writing led to the pathway and birth of his debut single “Cross Roads,” released on January 20th, 2019. The single connected with an instantaneous fanbase recognizing the artist's incredible writing ability articulated in clever and at times soulful lyrics. Following up on the successful release of “Cross Roads,” the artist released the singles “My Turn,” on February 1st, 2020, and “Smoke,” on May 1st, 2020. A music video was released for the single “My Turn,” to YouTube on March 8th, 2020. Both singles were released in advance to the anticipation of the E.P “Blitz’d Emotions,” released on June 14th, 2020. The singles and E.P were met with critical and fan acclaim. Hip Hop Weekly has described the artist and his music as something “that will positively inspire a generation to the next level of music.”

Currently, the artist is promoting the recent release of the singles “Rock Out” released on August 14th, 2020, and “Better Off,” released on September 11th, 2020. A music video is ready to be released to YouTube for the single “Better Off,” in October, 2020. Both singles are from the upcoming yet to be titled E.P set to be released sometime in 2021.

With a fascinating message in his music that sparks inspiration, healing, and sheds light on social issues, BankrollShell is contributing to the voice of a generation. He hopes that his music helps to not only give this generation something to say but a way of being heard. His latest singles “Rock Out,” and “Better Off,” are currently on demand via Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming services.

So, our artist's name was partially inspired by the experience of going through the songwriting mentorship process with our mentor, Loren Israel. We feel like the whole experience helped us delve deeper and be more honest and vulnerable in our songs and writing. Deeper into the “Blue” as it were. Blue is also a power color for both of us, so with some creative thinking, we came up with N2BLÜ.

Music-wise what are you working on right now?

We have actually finished our first album, titled “Phoenix Heart," which will be releasing this summer and we have already started our next album.

Are you currently promoting a single or album?

We are currently promoting our latest single, Kiss Me Like the Devil, which is available on every online music platform along with the lyric video on our YouTube channel. We will actually be releasing our next single, “Again”, and lyric video on April 21, 2020.

Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career?

For me (Jonathan), my biggest influences growing up were Better Than Ezra, Duncan Sheik, and Savage Garden. For Kosta, his biggest influence growing up was DC Talk.

As a musician, what is your definition of success?

I’d say our definition of success is being able to do what we love (making music), being able to share it with the world, and helping other people through our music.

1. Where are we talking from today?

A. I am currently living and working in Nashville, TN. I have lived in this area for over 6+ years.

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?

A. I started this year with utter determination to release an EP/album of really any genre, just to dedicate my life music. I have a passion for hip-hop and alternative rock and made a commitment to get at least one of many projects publicly distributed. As of September 2019, I have sent a 6 song hip-hop/rap EP, called “The 3-2-4 Mixtape”, for commercial distribution through Amuse. I would like to finish the year promoting this record heavily and reaching the largest potential audience imaginable.

3. What is your take on politics?

A. My take on today’s political climate is based on what I see in the real world. Generally speaking, I think the American people are not being told the full gravity of some situations such as global warming and being oversold on other issues such as gun control. As a former college student hailing from a small town raised in a medium-income family; I can tell you that there’s a large group of young people that are struggling with personal debt. I will flat out tell you that I do not agree with what’s happening at the border, as that’s more of a humanitarian issue.

4. Where did you get your artist name from?

A. Back in 2017, I remember telling my girlfriend at the time that I was going to take my hip hop aspirations more seriously and that I needed a name. I thought about where I worked, which was at Bird scooter company. My name is Brandon. So viola!

5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?

A. Music took to me as a child as birds take to the sky. I was never really especially talented, but I spent everyday idolizing the gods of performing arts: David Bowie, Prince, Gaga, James Brown, Jackson...people that were music personified. I remember buying the first guitar that I bought with my own money, and life never was the same. I couldn’t even play the thing but would put on “shows” in my bedroom. In high school I started project after project, band after band, trying to get people to work with me on becoming great. Nothing came out of it but the drive to keep going till it happens. All along the way, I learned new skills such as producing and new styles. Music isn’t a choice for me. To quote Jack Nicholson quoting John Lennon in the departed: “Give me a tuba and I’ll get something out of it”. If I never make a dollar from music it’s still my lifeblood and I can’t ignore it. I tried. I have a degree in mechanical engineering, and I still call myself a musician first. I don’t remember any specific moment where I decided to dedicate my life to music, but I do remember being down on my luck and watching one of Tai Lopez’s “motivation videos” and him saying “your purpose is you childlike curiosity for any particular subject”. For me it is music.

6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?

A. I have a degree in mechanical engineering cause I thought for a very long time that engineering was my path. Sometimes I still do, and my resume is still out there. But that’s only because my mom and dad wanted me to have a plan other than my dream as a musician. I mean it’s not like I got through engineering school without having some interest in the subject, but always when I should have been studying I was listening to beats or writing lyrics. I still could see my self as some freelance engineering trying to build the first iron man suit, but it’s not me to be in the office fetching coffee.

7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?

A. I wouldn’t call it a surprise, but it shocked me sort of to learn how bigger labels acquire talent and how the whole commercial album production process goes. You start reading about all the big names that had been in the music industry forever but didn’t make it big till they producing material for themselves. Not everyone starts in the garage handing out demos on the street. A lot of these guys have been writing for other people for years. Sometimes for me, that translates that getting your foot in the door is a matter of luck more than anything and it can be a while before someone worth mentioning hears your song.

8. What was it like putting together your EP?

A. After you been writing/playing music for a while, you kind of get this attitude that no matter how it sells, I’m going to have fun and be true to myself. I’ve written at least a hundred songs that’ll never be heard, but happy to play to friends to family if I can remember them. Putting together my current record is no different. If it gets a 1000 commercial plays I’ll be happy, cause it’ll always mean more to me than anyone else. It’s my hard work on display, and I love the piss and vinegar as much the reward.

9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you still love to work with in the future?

A. My favorite artist at the moment is Chance the Rapper. Going through his catalog I’ve found that he adores the opportunity he’s been given and is determined to get his message out there, which is “life is God”. I believe Hip hop was meant to tell a story and all the greats are good storytellers. My idols are Jay-z, Biggie, Rakim, Ghostface...they taught me how to keep faith, keep my head up, and make money. I would love to work with any of today’s greatest storytellers including Chance the Rapper and J-Cole

10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now?

A. For me keeping up with the socials is the hardest part of it all. As a painter all you want to do is paint, and let the auction house be in charge of putting it on display. I understand the importance of reaching out to fans and keeping up with the chatter, and I do my best. However, for me, it’s more like if you leave a message or a comment regarding a song I will send you a heartfelt reply of thanks and keep it moving. I need to work on engaging fans in a manner that makes them look forward to my future work. Right now my best method of communication is Facebook and Instagram.

11. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why?

A. A guitar of some sort would be nice. I could record a catalog's worth of serenades while slowly dying on the beach.

12. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on right now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in?

A. Eh, I don’t watch a lot of TV but 50 cent’s Power has a lot of hype. Maybe the huddle song for an NFL team, I dunno.

13. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

A. I just want the world to see me for what I am and what that is is a songwriter. Maybe even a pretty prolific one at that. As far as my message: Be yourself, and speak on what you know. If all you know is bad relationships, sing songs about bad relationships. If all you know is God, sing songs about God.

14. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?

A. Can’t help to ride a scooter now and then. And I will always enjoy writing and watching other musicians perform.

15. Where you @ online?

A. You can find Scooty B Cruzin on Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp, Reverbnation, And Twitter. I have releases on Apple Music and Spotify.

1. Where are we talking from today?

A. I am speaking from my musical haven so to say- GrindCity Studios, located 25- 30 minutes outside of Atlanta, Georgia.

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?

A. My original goal for 2019 was to release an album every quarter. However, various circumstances did not allow for me to release an album for the first quarter, so I amended my goal to just releasing great music that connects to the
movements of today. Music that speaks to both political and social actions; socioeconomics; freedom and justice

3. What is your take on politics?

A. Politics are the main resources and tools that people have readily accessible. There is a dire need for more children to be aware and groomed indefinitely to speak, on their right(s) and use of their right in the political shaping of this country- the world. Many little ones want to grow up to be the next great rapper or ballplayer and don’t get me wrong these are great aspirations as well, but we also need to do a better job of exposing our young people to other ways to become agents of change.

4. Where did you get your artist name from?

A. Nemesi wasn’t my first choice lol! I was a combat medic in the United States Army and while I was stationed in Europe, I was called The Love. I originally went by B - Love lol while I was doing music with other groups. However, when I left Germany I decided to change my name and I found my calling so to speak in 1992. Racially charged things from growing up in Mississippi (where I’m from) inspired my voice and lead me to seek out an artist
name that would connect to the messages and flow that I was and am focused on delivering. So back to my name Nemesi lol! Long story short- Nemesi came in 1992 and was adapted from the female Greek goddess Nemesis. Nemesis is known as the goddess of vengeance and would dole out rewards for noble acts
and punishment for the opposite; she kept the balance between retribution and vengeance. Since Nemesis was a Greek goddess, I decided to drop the “s” and keep the meaning.

5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?

A. Music is very important! It has been constant in every aspect; more constant than people. Growing up you could label me an introvert. I was the kid that would run to my room and read various magazines about music and listen to popular artists
of that time. I was also the kid that didn’t know better and would order cassette tapes for 1 cent lol!- you know the ones that were advertised that you could get so many tapes for a penny but you would have to join the club and purchase a cassette at the regular price of $XX.99 for so many years. Man, you’re bringing
back memories! I remember mom bumping blues and gospel on the weekends through the record player. Mom and Pops had a café where you could play pool, pinball, grab food or just listen to the jukebox. My mom was also very creative and wrote songs. I just remember when music was playing it was always good;
the best of life for the family you know parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, etc.!

A. I’ve always tampered around with creating music and/or entertaining from an early age. As a teenager, I would dabble in writing and talent shows; that continued on and off for several years. I got serious when leaving Germany in 1992- I began to see the impact of lyrics and music on people from groups or
artists such as Big Daddy Kane, NWA, KRS 1, LL Cool J, Poor Righteous Teachers (I really liked them), Ice Cube, James Brown, Nina Simone, just to name a few. As an artist, I felt a sense of responsibility to the craft!

A. I didn’t choose to pursue music as a career per se but instead chose music as a way to release my mind and voice my inner-most expressions. The Persian Gulf War added so much more depth and contrast to my creativity. I remember being
in a circle of talented soldiers like Tony Cooper and Eric Wright the rapping duo forming the conscious rap group “Combined Force”. Also writing music for Preston Holloway and R &B group “New Arrivals”. We had an audience that was interested in hearing us perform even in the middle of a war. I just stayed
consistent in writing and developing the craft; it wasn’t until years later that I realized that I had already created a body of work that rivaled other industry artists.

6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?

A. Of course- I did and had to. I married at 19 and needed to provide so I went into the military as a combat medic. But I still was writing/creating and keeping the passion alive.

A. If I wasn’t an artist today, then I would be an educator in the fields of political science, African- American Culture/Studies. Something along those lines.

7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?

A. When you hear people reciting something you created that resonates with them. I have a friend, Dornell, who I’ve known since 1995. When Dornell hears the music to some of my earlier works, he will begin reciting the lyrics! That is huge for me.
To know that I have created various bodies of works such as (Looking 4 A Peace, Motion Picture, and my latest album Concentrated Vibes, etc...) that people can connect to, vibe to, and it stays with them/elevates them.

A. An unexpected or welcomed challenge is creating something that my kids can listen to or look at and be proud of. I am conscience about my lyrics not just as words but the meaning. I know that my children have respect for my work because of how they address their friends. If friends of theirs want to connect with me as a mentor, to provide guidance, or to record, they tell them don’t come to my dad with some f*cked up/disrespectful sh*t because he is not having it.

8. What was it like putting together your EP?

A. This particular time- with The Concentrated Vibes album, it was a very different and very exciting approach for me. I was able to get with a producer- Mr. Frank Lovejoy, who plays different instruments and creates different sounds. Mr. Lovejoy uses his generational era to enlighten and emphasis various things;
every song was created out of the initial emotional connection to the essence of hearing the music for the first time. Whatever came when the music was played is what was captured.

9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you still love to work with in the future?

A. Let's see…I will have to say that I am inspired by the musical styles of Michael Jackson and Sade. The way that they packaged their messages and presented them to the audience is awe-inspiring. Others like Rakim- I used to recite Paid In Full, Doug E. Fresh- The Show, Public Enemy, and Chuck D, KRS 1, Ice Cube,
Tupac. These artists were some of the ones that I connected with because they were conscience of the struggle during their time and they kicked knowledge through their lyrics; goes back to packaging.

A. Hands down, Ice Cube and Chuck D!

10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to
connect with your fans now?

A. I recognize that social media is what’s popping right now to meet your target audience and attract a new audience. For this to occur, I need to stay on top of the evolution of these platforms. Right now, I’m dealing with an issue around my intellectual property because there was a mishap that caused the
website to go down on the day of the album release. In one word, challenging lol!

A. Social media is good, but I like social events to build
rapport/relationships/networking in the form of connections. I like to support and be supported.

1. Where are we talking from today?

A. I am from Chicago originally but Florida currently has my heart.

2. Where did you get your artist name from?

A. Well, I went through maybe 3-4 name ideas but I ultimately went with the name I was born with, Dahshanae. It felt the most right and really further pushed the motive of truly showing my audience who I am.

3. Music wise what are you working on right now? Are you currently promoting a single or album?

A. I just finished working on my first mixtape, "Relapse" and it is truly my most personal project yet. "Relapse" will be available on all platforms June 17th and the first single and visual from the project, "R.I.A" will be out April 19th followed by a few more really amazing releases so I'm very excited about it. I found my sound while writing this project. I learned so much about myself and what is and isn't love through this project. More importantly, I learned how to accept my flaws and to take everything that I've learned to make better decisions in life and hopefully be a beacon for others that hear this project and relate to it in some way to help them understand that repeated behavior will have the repeated results.

4. Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career?

A. I would say who inspired me most was definitely Janet Jackson and Beyoncé. I was literally 4 years old staring at my TV studying Janet Jackson's music video choreography until I had it completely down packed. Same with Beyoncé as I got older. I've just always been obsessed with their confidence, their creativity, their drive. Everything they did was completely genius and legendary and I think myself as well as many girls growing up saw that as an example of true brilliance. When I got more so into my teens, I got into Erykah Badu and fell in love with her voice and her vision. I would say I definitely look up to so many strong women that inspire me to be the artist that I am today.

5. Who are your favorite musicians?

A. I love so many artists and I'm always finding new ones to add to the already long list of my favs but off the top of my head, I'd say Jessie Reyez, Mickey Shiloh, Chloe X Halle, Jhene Aiko, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande.

6. What have been the greatest challenges/frustrations of your career so far?

A. My greatest challenges have definitely been feeling unsure of myself and allowing others to make me feel unsure of myself when I am confident in something. I'm a Libra so I'm already very indecisive by nature so getting to a point where I'm completely happy with something can be a long process and can become an even longer process when I have other people in my ear telling me they don't like something I do and that I should do this instead than someone coming behind them and saying they don't like that. I kind of had to come to the realization that not everyone is going to like everything I do and no matter how hard I try, you simply can not please everyone. I had to give myself a mini pep one day and tell myself that I got this and to just go with my gut and that has definitely helped me overcome some of my self-doubts.

7. As a musician, what is your definition of success?

A. Being a musician, many people would say success is selling out shows, getting a #1 on Billboard, and having millions of dollars. Don't get more wrong, I think those things can play a factor in the look of success but I'm more worried about the feel of success. Being able to connect with your audience through your music is huge to me because there are so many people around the world going through things and always have that feeling that it's just them feeling crappy or low key weird or whatever is it. With my music I want my audience to see that they are not alone so people messaging me or coming to my shows saying that one of my songs made them feel better about their situation or made them feel empowered then that means true success to me.

8. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A. My idea of perfect happiness is being able to create art. Rather it's music, visuals, performances, paintings, etc. As long as I'm creating freely and being able to fully express myself through my art, that is the definition of a happy Dahshanae. Well...that and food.

9. What is your present state of mind?

A. My present state of mind is solely on making my mark. I remember seeing something Left Eye from TLC said in an interview and it really stuck with me. She said that if you can see something you want in your head clear as day, then it is possible. When you believe in it, It starts manifesting into reality. For me, always believing in myself and keeping the doubters far away from my creative thought process and execution is key.

10. What is your most treasured possession?

A. My most treasured possession is hands down my laptop. I feel like my entire life is on it so I'm super protective over it. You can take away my entire studio but as long as I got my laptop, I'm good.

11. What do you enjoy doing most?

A. I enjoy being in my studio from sun up to sun down just writing. For my "Relapse" project, in particular, I really freestyle many of the songs and now it is probably one of my favorite ways to create. You never really know what you're going say so sometimes the melody is everything but I have to go in a switch a few words around and sometimes the melody and the lyrics just fit so perfectly that I leave it alone so it's a pretty interesting process for me.

12. Where would you like to be in 10 years’ time?

A. In 10 years, my only real goal is to be happy and to continue to make music that makes people feel human and inspire them to be unapologetic.

13. Where you @ online?

Two singles "Ol Black Cat" and "Leisure Time Blues," were soft released in advance on the Sound Cloud platform. Currently the two singles have garnered the bluesman over 40k in streams on the Sound Cloud platform.Tuned Loud Blog, reviewed the singles in advance. They described the two singles as follows, "When listening to “Leisure Time” and “Ol Black Cat”, a succession of moods washes over us and at their deepest point they resemble a psychedelic trance."

Joe The Bluesman aka Joe Campobasso was born in Kansas City in 1954. Early in his childhood, his parents moved to Huntington Beach, California where he would spend most of his youth. A natural musician, he was already playing the violin by the third grade and by high school he was playing in the school's band. Joe also played bass in a band during his teen years known as "Pimit Creek," who mainly played CSN&Y covers. Joe's musical influences include Count Basis and Sarah Vaughn. After high school, he put music as a profession aside stating "I have always had an interest in music but I had to put music as a side interest, like so many people I took the time to raise my family.Three years ago I said goodbye to my day job to make music my number one priority."
A small tour is planned for the spring and summer to promote the singles and the E.P.

1. Where are we talking from today?

Good old Detroit, MI

2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?

We would like to record our future hit album of existing and performable material with a proper engineer. Perhaps find a proper label that will help us with this and launching our career as artists.

3. Has the government shutdown effected you or anyone you know?
Not specifically, I have friends who needed to renew their medical cards through the government and obviously had to wait a long time to get them processed.

4. What is your take on politics?

We don’t like to talk about politics much, it isn’t proper to bring up in conversation. If we would’t share our beliefs at a dinner party, we certainly wouldn’t share them with the world. Activism is another story, if there is ‘wrong’ happening and we have the opportunity to stand up against it….we will however. We will say that what has been happening in politics the last few years is a ‘JOKE’ fueled by the unethical misuse of media.

5. Where did you get your artist name from?

LÜME(this might turn out wrong through yahoo, its LUME with an umlaut)
LUME is a feeling to us, derived from the abrupt ending of our last indie project. A feeling of loose ends and nostalgia hovering over one’s head. We had a ton of issues finding a name that we agree with so we picked one and gave it definition. We will most likely change it when we have completed recording and have set a plan to attack airwaves.

6. At what age did you make music a pursuit?

We both started playing different instruments in our early adolescences and throughout the years learned as many as we could pick up teaching ourselves. As soon as we got ahold of a few notes I think we both knew it would eventually be our self-made destiny.

7. Did your family and friends support you in your pursuit of music?

Our families allowed us both the time to suck off and create. That is…. focus on music; a pursuit of decay to a strict family. We are really blessed to have the people in our lives. Our friends never said “you suck” so maybe that’s why we never stopped. it’s never to late to speak up..?

8. Do you have an album/EP out now that readers should check out or are you about releasing singles?

We have single demos released on soundcloud.com/lume365 for now as well as a live video onfacebook.com/lume365 facebook.com/lumedetroit and @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTnczIcBxtw
This is all for now until we decide to go one way or another.

9. Do you have any plans to tour?

No plans to tour for now but like us onfacebook.com/lume365 and we will surely release our future tours as soon as they come to fruition.

10. What artists are you listening to right now?

the Delphonics, always going back to motown R&B and Soul that’s a given:)
as far as todays music the Gorillaz NowNow album. As well as a constant Radiohead, MGMT, Jungle, Tame Impala, Glass Animals. We never stop looking for new influences as you can imagine.

11. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?

Jeremy loves to play video games and even D&D with his friends.
Clay likes to go to as many concerts as he can and also play hockey when it's not interfering with any aspect of music.
We love cinema, there’s nothing like loosing yourself momentarily in a story that is not your own. We do love our lives and exploring the natural world we were born into.
