Jersey Doll is originally from Rahway, New Jersey and raised in sunny Southern California. Daughter of a concert classical pianist, she fell in love with the piano and singing at the age of four. She began playing in church at the age of seven, and her professional career began not long after. Her passion to share her love of music with others would eventually lead her to teach piano and voice from the age of twelve. “ I grew up in church being the daughter of a pastor so I explored and learned to perform all styles of music.” she says. Her deep roots in gospel has definitely been incorporated in her current sound.
Jersey Doll has performed in off Broadway musicals, big bands, orchestras, tribute shows, in and out of the United States from small restaurants to major Las Vegas casinos. She has written music for small community musical productions to national endeavors in human and animal rights. She is no stranger to the stage and expresses her love for her fans and the audience in every performance.
Having spent a number of years living and performing in Las Vegas, Jersey Doll has also had her share of challenges, not only working in the music business, but also as a woman in an environment which at times, could be dangerous and unfriendly.
While Jersey Doll has always written and composed throughout her life, her debut album, “Tip Jar” is the works. “Tip Jar” sums up some of these harsh realities she has been faced with and overcome, while not losing her faith in God and keeping her dreams alive. “Tip Jar”, her debut album, is not only an introduction to Jersey Doll, but also an in depth look at her personal struggles and even addresses social and community issues through song. The album was birthed with her first single, “Blacktop Hussle”. Her infectious vocals and unique delivery makes an instant crowd pleaser over the classic Pharcyde track “Running”. The song depicts her life marathon which includes extreme hardships and personal flaws. The song was inspired by the work of the late great Nipsey Hussle. This song has currently been well received in New York City and co-signed by the legendary DJ Scratch & Awesome 2.
