Famous Phrases is Singer-Songwriter Bobby Fraser from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Bobby has been making music from a young age when at 13 he picked up the guitar and shortly after that he started to write his own songs. At 17 while in high school he joined his first band (Opium for the Angels) where he provided the main vocals and guitar. He was also the main songwriter for the band during their time together.
The band broke up shortly after everyone graduated high school and Bobby took a hiatus from playing in other bands. He did continue to write and play guitar in his private life.
In early 2016 he decided to start his solo project Famous Phrases after years of being dormant. On October 17, 2016 Famous Phrases released it's first EP The Green Corduroy Notebook. This was followed up by the release of Those Days Past on July 19, 2017. Bobby changed musical directions on his EP Mechanical Heartbeat which was released on April 21, 2018. He released his newest EP Synthetic Love on July 3, 2018.
In early 2017 Bobby joined fellow Winnipeg musician Beau Turner to create the Alternative Rock band Turn a Phrase. The two musicians have a long history together both attending high school together and playing in Opium for the Angels.
Since the inception of Turn a Phrase the band has played more than a half dozen shows throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba. They released their first single Rain on March 4, 2018 and they have started recording their first EP.
All of Famous Phrases and Turn a Phrase's music is available on their Facebook, Bandcamp and YouTube channels.
