- About Me
- Born and raised in Columbus Ohio, Daequan ‘Carlos’ McKinney developed and found his spiritual gift for his love for music.
Listening to a variety of genres helped him develop a spiritual connection and better understanding of the importance of music and how it impacts society in history and still today.
His dream to be on the stage as a humbled yet well known and popular artist inspired his work with artist such as MJG, 8Ball, Juvenile, Terry Whitlow, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Mobb deep, Buckeye Politicians, Men at Large, and Troop just to mention a few.
His strong roots in R&B taught him so much in the art of composing music.
His love for creating different sounds, riffs, and melodies left Daequan, Composing, producing while also writing for Independent artists as well as many top names in the industry. Being influenced by the phenomenal sounds of the extraordinary superstars such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, New Edition, Jodeci, LA Reid, Babyface, Mary L Blige, and Boyz II Men gave Daequan his huge lens for ‘powerhouse’ sounds that creates his now Gospel sound.
In reflection of what Daequan, now refers to as the ‘good ole days’ has led him to embrace God’s purpose and plan in his driven desire to be a part of the music industry.
Hoping to change the way music is produced and released with a better understanding of the supernatural spirit in music and how it influences the heart and soul of mankind.
He now has a better understanding that though he had his own plans for his life, the Lord Jesus had a strategic even better plan for his life. So in due season the Lord called him and he would answer his calling. In revelation understanding that the real purpose of true music was meant for God’s glory not mans.
So now Daequan dedicates his time glorifying God in a powerful bold yet rich Gospel sound that lifts the human heart before the throne of the Lord. Exalting the message of the Gospel and a sound that envelops the human spirit.
