- About Me
- My name is Candice Kingston and I am a 28 yr old singer/ Songwriter from the Gold Coast.
I have been singing since the age of 5 and began singing lessons 4 years ago. I am taking guitar tuition with Kevin Briggs.
I started writing my own songs 3 years ago after a personal tragedy changed my life. I found writing music to be a huge release, very therapeutic in a time of turmoil.
I have been very fortunate during the past year to work with some amazing people, starting with Paul Blakey from 12th & Vine Post Studio when he mastered my first Ep.
Through this meeting with Paul he has introduced me to the very talented singer, songwriter & producer Maggie Britton and the brilliant guitarist & producer Louie Shelton.
Working with Maggie has helped me so much and opened many doors for me.
She has taught me everything I know about songwriting, vocal coaching and the ins and outs of the music industry.
I am currently working with Louie Shelton on my first album,
Louie and I are creating the songs together, I mostly write the lyrics and melody with Louie doing the musical arrangements.
It has been a dream come true to work with Louie with such a strong country back ground, just being entered into the Country music hall of fame in Nashville and such a huge talent on the guitar and teaching me everything I need to know about musical arranging and the music industry.
Last year I was an entrant in the Urban Country Music Festival in Caboolture.
It was the first time I preformed in front of a crowd that big and began my love of live performance. Since performing at the Urban Country Music Festival, it has been a huge dream of mine to perform at Tamworth.
I also spent 3 weeks earlier this year in America. I was fortunate enough to visit Nashville, the place of my dreams!! I hope to go back next year with my new EP done and see where it takes me.
I have recently released my first single “Tellin Lies” through Itunes.
This is one of my favorite songs and I really hope it does well!
I will be releasing my second single “The Perfect Night” to Itunes in a few weeks time, so stay tuned!!!
