Drinking has been an obstacle in my life. By the grace God I’ve be sober for awhile now. It was definitely ruining my life and destroying my relationships. It was an obstacle I put in my own path. The enemy just used it to keep me bound longer then I wanted to be.

God reviled to me that I was just using it to medicate, a coping mechanism to deaden my emotions from all the trauma I went through growing up. I believe that’s how lot of people get caught up in any type of addiction, starts out settle to cope with pain, then quickly takes a foothold into dependency.

Thank God for Jesus Christ though! I can now say I’ve been set free. I can see it now as a gift God used to show me that it’s apart of the gift of my story. I can share it with others and give hope. A different direction to be blessed and a blessing.

So whatever you’ve been through to get where you are today, don’t be ashamed of it. God can and will use it to restore not just you, but others as well. When the pain is great enough you’ll move in the direction God always meant for you to be!
