By a beast from Hell unleashing rage

Through unlocked doors, unhindered??

Shooting viciously, unmercifully,

At even one girl….. wheelchair bound,

With no sympathy to any pleas,

Spilling bloodshed with each round.

How does one man

obtain thirteen guns

Without drawing attention

All registered with no red flags,

To warn of bad intentions

Not collections, just obsessions

God forbid we try prevention

creating NRA dissension.

God forbid Lucero, Quinn and Kim

Could have left that class serene,

Or that Treven, Lucas, Jason Dale

never shared their dying screams,….

That Rebeka and Serena,

didn’t have to beg and pray,

And Professor Levine simply

would have taught more classes on that day

The tenth soul lost in those final shots

Was the shooter, self inflicted

As police converged, all his violence purged,

As a mad dog, not a victim.

We’ve always shot down rabid beasts,

Whose bite can wound and kill,

And yet we fail to notice

signs of rabid men until,

Their madness is fulfilled.

Perhaps the great solution lies,

In more barbaric ways,

To kill the shooter long before

Any victims have to lay

Blood spattered in dismay.

Let’s man the campuses and malls

the theatres and schools

With men who’ve faced gunfire

And can wield the needed tools..

Recruit the best men home from wars,

Unemployed, in need of work,

to patrol these places lives are lost

it’s a duty they won’t shirk.

Each properly armed

they will observe

All those who’ve gone

beyond the curve

Of sanity and bring quick stops

To janitors with bloody mops.

Before a single victim drops.

Immediate execution

If you’re somewhere

with some guns

In places that you shouldn’t be

You’ll have no place you can run.

If the fact was known,

That we won’t condone

Any helpless victims killed

Then those bent on suicidal whims

Will get their last wishes fulfilled.

Barbaric yes, but anything less

Will bring more death and tears

How Much longer as a nation

Must we bear the castration

of lives lost in the coming years.

There’s been 296 mass killings

In Two-thousand fifteen already

That’s over once a day, my God

Don’t you think we should get ready

If a man chooses to rob a bank

 And threaten innocent lives

They call in teams that they call S.W.A.T.

And few robbers survive

We must stop the next one in His tracks,

Throwing desks and chairs will not detract’

From a mad man’s rage in his cruel attacks,

Let’s let our trained veterans fight back.

Lest the next time someone wields a gun

In mindless, hate fed slaughter,

it just might be aimed at your own son,

or claim your precious daughter

let’s prevent them being fodder.

Then all those folks who cherish guns

Can keep them safely locked,

Obeying constitutional laws

While killers get knocked off,

 it’s past time for tougher talk.
