Bringing Hope Back To Our precious Wounded Troops

A painting I did to represent wounded warriors as well as Our nation in dire straits.

I have been asked to develop a project that will pay tribute to the most compassionate man who ever walked the face of earth. Out of the 100 years of life he was granted, he sacrificed 61 of those years constantly reaching out to the uncounted thousands of our soldiers in combat and those who were wounded as well.

He donated over 1 billion dollars to charity before he died. Ignoring his fear of flying he went time after time into places where his plane and his life were in jeopardy, even after his planes were shot at several times.

After 13 years without Hope and on the 75th anniversary of the U.S.O. of which he was a most integral part of for 6 decades, it is time to honor him with a chance to carry on his lifelong mission of reaching out to wounded soldiers from beyond his grave. It is time to carry on his legacy by using one of the tools that he so often shared with soldiers amidst the horrors of war.

The picture above is one of the clubs he always swung at the opening of his USO shows.

I was approached by Bob Hope’s Great Nephew to free lance an article to various newspapers in my locale that would honor his life in this 75th year of the U.S.O.’s existence. That was written, but then I asked him if anyone had ever written a song about Bob Hope. He said, “He didn’t think so.” He then invited me over to his house, and he shared with me a treasure trove of Bob Hope’s props stemming from his first vaudeville shows in Cleveland back in 1924, to all of his props from his innumerable shows from the U.S.O. tours. I was deeply moved at seeing so much of what this great man used to bring smiles to our troops. He then allowed me to look through perhaps 15 albums of photos that haven’t seen the light of day in 40 to 60 years, many of them original studio shots with provenance plus hundreds of photos from his shows during World War Two, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. Every star you could possibly think of was in many with him, and the faces of the veterans in the audience, some of whom were never seen again is haunting.

So I went home immersed in all of that compassion and wonder that Bob Hope had created all those years, and penned, composed and recorded a song of tribute for him. I am currently taking the very best and most rare photos from his life, with his Great Nephews permission, and incorporating as many as I can fit into a video/song presentation to honor his immense love for mankind. I will then upload the video/song-“The World of Hope.”©-2016 to all the major download venues on the internet. Spotify I-tunes, Apple Amazon, Google, Tidal, You Tube and so many more. The video song will be available for a donation purchase at .99 cents per download and all profits…every single penny will be sent by the websites directly to a Chase bank account under the name: The Bob Hope Project, and they will transfer all of the profits directly to Wounded Warriors.  No middle men, no administrative cost, just cash to help the so many wounded soldiers we have struggling all over this country. I am not asking anyone here to purchase the video/song nor am I asking for sponsors, I am simply asking you at Linked In to endorse this project. Our society seems to need mass endorsements even on a charity as compassionate and heartwarming as this one. So it would help me to further my goals on this project if you would simply endorse me under your company/studio name. If you are a producer, CEO or if you know of anyone or any company whose name dropping will help influence others to see this product as worthy of owning and sharing with friends and families. I have touched base with Larry Fitzgerald in hopes of getting Kelly Pickler to sing the vocals, but that is a long shot. She has been doing a lot of work with the USO and it’s a good fit. If you are wondering about my expertise: I have undertaken projects similar to this one before:

1.-Race for the cure: over 3,000 pins distributed as well as several tribute and theme songs for the event.

2.-9/11 tribute- hand made clay ribbons sent to ground zero where the clergy division handed them out to despondent rescuers leaving the pits at the World Trade Towers.

I promoted and distributed Reba McIntyre’s first single to all the major radio stations in northeast Ohio when she first started out.

Plus so much more-over eight years as a coordinator and director and vocalist and writer for various chapters of “Up With People.”
