Synonyms 1. Sensual, sensuous, voluptuous refer to experience through the senses. Sensual refers, often unfavorably, to the enjoyments derived from the senses, especially from the gratification or indulgence of physical appetites: a sensual delight in eating; sensual excesses. Sensuous refers, favorably or literally, to what is experienced through the senses: sensuous impressions; sensuous poetry. Voluptuous implies the luxurious gratification of sensuous or sensual desires: voluptuous joys; voluptuous beauty. See also carnal. 2. lascivious.

To make the attempt to write about Black Feminine Sen/Sex-U-aLiTy is no easy task. The definition of sensual is given first because little black girls are not shown this definition first as they began to experience the AWAKENING of their Feminine SENSES after the first seductive touch from anyone. I know I wasn’t shown the definition of sensual nor did I even think to investigate the word at all when I began to experience my inner Senses that whomever IT or They were had created (made) us to have. All my momma told me was “don’t play with the boys.”

So, I didn’t. I guess the girls that I hung around had been told the same thing. To prepare ourselves for that first kiss that we knew and longed to experience someday, we practiced with ice cubes and with each other. We even critiqued each other’s technique and of course one thing lead to another. After all momma said, “Don’t play with the boys.” So---We didn’t. There is absolutely no way to describe what we each felt because we all felt something differently, yet, We liked it---I liked it.

Being sensual made me feel ultra feminine. I felt extremely soft, playful and imitative. It made me feel like I was a grown woman deserving of some young boy’s or grown man’s attention and Affection. I did not know that a great responsibility came with awakening those senses and for sure, I would not let my momma know. No one informed me or my girlfriends that beyond the fact of having a menstrual cycle, other physical and psychological doors had been flung open as well. The thing that was devastating the most was that there weren’t any passage of rites into womanhood ceremonies for us. Hell, I thought being voluptuous meant a sistah had big breast and a big butt. I’ve even noticed how some people prepare their food and can make it look so damn good on their plate that I wanted to eat their food instead of my own. Being sensual has nothing to do with ethnicity because we are dealing with the Mind and what our Senses experience when they are noticing what is going on in their INvironment. I think we would have to be able to break down what the universe or the Supreme It is feeling when It is being sensual with itself in order to bring about life. If our feminine ancestors first learned about what it was to be sensual from the Lord God or Gods in the garden of Genesis then we know what is recorded that happened next.

The Black woman taught her man how to experience what it felt like to become a sensual being. In this context I mean experiencing the awakening of our senses. When I know that I am being photographed, I feel sensual. What that means is that I immediately bring in the feminine energy of all of my ancient mothers which makes me first dress accordingly and allow them to express their poses through me.

SENSUALITY

The Supreme Reality that has many names always takes a step by step approach to everything that it does. It is a very SENSE-ual approach, an approach that is an unrestrained indulgence in the pleasure of making life. So as we investigate the so called defining elements of what some being who didn’t even make himself pens to elements intermingling with each other as this or that, we must question how they came to know what this or that truly meant. Especially when labeling something beyond their comprehension as being lewd or unchaste. I say this because what we call nature or life, is being sensual and expressing its sensuality all of the time, right before our very eyes. During the ancient of days it is recorded that life would always continue to do everything in cycles. Now that I am older, I can say that my sensuality expresses itself in cycles. Feminine sensuality is affected by the penetrating vibrations of the moon and the SUN. Like it—or not.

When a sistah is feeling sensual and expressing her sensuality, she should know that she is the keeper, protectress and nurturer of something that has been entrusted divinely in her keeping. She should feel that it is her duty to know what she is giving up every time she has sex and with whom she is having sex with. It goes beyond looking enticingly irresistible to men. No one told me that it all begins in the BRAIN. Education is paramount. Genetics is something that should be learned alongside the importance of having our first menstrual cycle.

This would help us as sensual beings to practice purposeful restraint and value our ability to be chaste women. In my opinion this would return the aura of dark mysticism to our femininity and make us alluring, and desirable beings to our men again.

SEX

In biology, sex is a process of combining and mixing genetic traits, often resulting in the specialization of organisms into a male or female variety (each known as a sex). Sexual reproduction involves combining specialized cells (gametes) to form offspring that inherit traits from both parents. Gametes can be identical in form and function (known as isogametes), but in many cases an asymmetry has evolved such that two sex-specific types of gametes (heterogametes) exist: male gametes are small, motile, and optimized to transport their genetic information over a distance, while female gametes are large, non-motile and contain the nutrients necessary for the early development of the young organism. Experiencing my senses lead me to the gate of wanting to engage in SEX. Sensual, sensuality and SEX are friends of each other. Our ancient ancestors programmed them within us to be experienced together. They did have a manner in which we were to experience these happenings, however the Lord God (s) slipped and had something else in MIND. After saying this, it goes without saying that everyone who Plays around with awakening their senses becomes prime candidates of wanting to experience the thrill of what it feels like to engage in SEX. We don’t have sex we have babies, we have desires, wishes, wants and dreams. We engage in Sex which requires us to Perform certain Acts in order to heighten what our senses have not felt and/or didn’t know existed. Truthfully speaking, when I had my first sexual encounter with a male, it was not enjoyable accept for the part where I knew that I had something so valuable between my legs that he wanted, that he was even willing to crawl to me for it. I thought to myself, wow! The power of the pussy was made plain to me in that very moment.

However, I still had not thought to investigate the meaning of these different stages of awakening my senses. If my mother would have told me that I was genetically mixing my ancestral lineage with that sexual counterpart—maybe, just maybe—I wouldn’t have liked it as much as I did when I finally experienced sex with someone who knew what the hell they were doing. I did however, began to research the various positions and mantras of SEX. Why? Power!!! Genetics! Sex! We have got to start thinking about what we are doing ourselves genetically and stop making the vibration of love our scapegoats. If it feels good---don’t necessarily mean Do it! Earlier I mentioned the words, Softer, Playful and Imitative.

Think about it. Doesn’t this sound Primal? (A question for my sis-STARS) Our sensuality becomes very primal when we are engaging in sex, especially if we don’t know any of the more refined sciences of sex as being a healing tool. We just get down and funky when we get loose. I like that sometimes. However, we must restrain ourselves from always experiencing our sensuality on that level. Why? Because at that level we forget about the respawn-sibilities of what we’re doing and what we are cocreating with the pre-programmed wiring surgically manipulated within us. (The medical experiments of our ancient ancestors)

I now must accept the reality that whenever I engage in sex, I am nothing more than an organism preparing myself to sensuously engage in and perform certain sexual acts that become expressions of an activity that I Like from time to time. In conclusion, do we do ourselves an injustice when we try to approach the subject of Sensuality as Sexuality first?
