Hip Hop has been blessed with many talented artists who contributed to the culture, and now we can all prepare for a new addition. Cory Magee, better known as Holy Bandz, is a hard-working rapper on the rise and ready to take his talents to the next level. Coming from the infamous, and ruthless city of Chicago, Holy Bandz is a young, ambitious and talented artist ready to establish his career and make his mark in the hip hop industry.
Chicago has become notorious for violence in the past few years, and Holy Bandz has witnessed some of the worst, including losing loved ones to addiction, and dealing with his own adversities. He was raised by both parents who did their best to give him a good upbringing, but when he discovered he wanted to pursue music, it redefined his relationship with his father.
As he matured, Holy Bandz took those adversities brought upon him and turned it into inspiration. The inspiration then drove him to take music more serious and start writing. He began to realize that through doing music, it became an outlet for him to release his inner thoughts. As he progressed in his artistry, he also drew inspiration from heavy hitters Jay Z, Kanye West, Future, Pac, Biggie, and fellow Chicago natives that made it through the mud and are making names for themselves. He released his debut project, Gold, Oil & Diamonds in March of 2016, which served as just a taste of what he has coming. Holy Bandz has continued to polish sound, and give us music in its purest form – by giving us his own styles and content that reflects on what he’s feeling in the moment.
The future is very bright for Holy Bandz, as he continues to build his catalog and grow as an artist. He currently has a new single, “I Got the Juice” that’s grabbing the attention of listeners and DJs across the country. 2016 was a solid introduction for him, but 2017 will have much more in store. With a poppin’ single on his hands, and more quality music coming, Holy Bandz will be an artist positioning himself for legendary status.
