The Social Experience......Helping the Unsigned Artist Get Heard!!!
KOD is a title which I believe mean Kids on drugs, Kings overdosed and possibly many other meaning. From the first listen J. Cole stuck to what he knows best. He cadences and lyrics are on point. Like all his albums you will have to go back and listen to it multiple times to catch things you missed the first on the first listen. J. Cole's sound didn't stay stagnant. He evolved to what is going on. I think J. Cole has always evolved to how music changes. He has been at the forefront of the some of the changes. His concepts are thought provoking. I don't really hear any features as I am listening it to now. The beats get you moving and the flows get you dancing. The production is out of the world. It gives you chills and goosebumps listening to how sonically amazing it sounds. One thing I like that rappers do that I want to improve in doing in my music is putting current events into their songs. I like how they slide things like that in rather its a metaphor or simile. J. Cole does that well. The honesty in this album stands out the most to me. Overall I give the album a 9 out of 10. J. cole stuck to his roots but still evolved enough to appeal to the younger kids listening to hip hop.
