EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW:

Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?

L3v3L Three: I grew up in the Fifth Ward area of Houston Texas know as (The Nickle). Music has always been a part of my family and family history. I listened to the area musicians play guitars, and sing the blues and i watched and learned every movement on the guitar and just loved this thing we call music.

Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

L3v3L Three: Actually i was watching an old television program and i noticed there was a night club in one of the scenes in the background and it was called LeveL 3 so of course i did my home work and found that L3v3L Three as an artist was/and had not been used in this particular spelling and as they say the rest is history.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

L3v3L Three: First i think there is a place for sharing music but the artist should be compensated for those type of downloads. I have in the past offered free downloads to friends, fans, and family so as too have promotional opportunities presented to social media site via these other avenues.

Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

L3v3L Three: Quality, Quality, Quality, Product, work on mastering your sound, look, and don’t rush your tracks! like they say put in the work and the rest will take care of itself.

Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

L3v3L Three: Thats usually different for a couple of resons. I am inspired by other artist, situations, and current events in life. My process is simple in some cases and complex in others. I first determine if i am feeling Jazz, Soul, RnB, being a musician i start with my instruments. Drum lines and bass parts start the foundation. I love the guitar and the keys these are my next parts. Vocals find there way home in the music.

Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

L3v3L Three: Most would say studio time and equipment! But for me it would be yes invest in some quality equipment but also invest in others whom have the same vision and passion for the music as yourself in other words give back blessing follow.

Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

L3v3L Three: Stay active on all of your social media and music websites, updates weekly if not able to advise daily. Do your home work and find out what works best for you what works for me may not work for you. What works for me is doing your due dillgence, research and understand music is a BUSINESS and don’t forget running a business requires time, management, patience, and the willingness to go the long haul.

Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?

L3v3L Three: In the studio working on the follow-up EP to Mellow Moods.

Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

L3v3L Three: Those that don’t do the music teach! For me if i could not perform or play instruments i know in my heart i would being teaching in some form or fashion and sharing the love of music.

Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

L3v3L Three: Thanks to the internet, e-mails, and social medial sites it sure makes my musical life a lot easier to manage and still be their for the family.
