- About Me
- The name Nahtzee Bonnie Is little more than an invective satire aimed at the face of a very real and very tense time for our country. To put it simply, My step father is terribly mentally ill and to him, everyone is a Nazi. My mother's name is Bonnie. The name practically wrote itself. In reality; the music isn't based on any sort of political platform and is in no way associated with any Nationalist or separatist groups or coalitions. Nor do we have any affiliation with the radical left or the anti-fascist movement(s). The live performance does not propagate a bias towards any political ideology. However, there may exist a small, silent overtone that states: If you become offended or enraged by something as arbitrary as the name of a band that you know nothing about; perhaps politics simply are not for you.
Once a proud and active member of Seattle's party fueled underground Punk scene, Tom maybe best known for his former role as lead singer and co-founding member of Seattle's original all-acoustic Punk Rock Duo: 'Violent Expulsion'.
In his time Labay has traversed through nearly every beer soaked basement and lethargic living room in Western Washington and beyond. Carrying with him many powerful performances playing with bands such as 'F.C.O.N', (An act that is fast becoming local heroes within the Gritty underground of Seattle's Hardcore Scene) Pop Punk "never-wheres", 'The Meatsweats'. (EX: Wolfhammer3!) Tom has also boasted shows at SXSW with Portland based Shawn Holley Founder of Garage Rock legends 'Mythological Horses', Groove Metal acts like 'Death valley Murder Squad' and of course Tom's infamous adolescent brainchild: 'The Ronz'.
Without losing touch of his Punk Rock foundation, Tom now provides a more refined, sweeter sound. Composed mainly on acoustic instruments, Nahtzee Bonnie can only be described as a collection of bleeding heart lyrics, with a sound more reminiscent of coastal California than that of his home in the dreary hills of The Pacific Northwest.(An area widely regarded as the birthplace of Grunge.) Nahtzee Bonnie brings to its audience all of the raw emotion and fervor you would expect from an artist rooted heavily in the underground. While delivering a more melodic, hook-oriented sound that is sure to please a wide variety of listeners.
