- About Me
- We are SevenDaze an alt rock/ Nu-metal band from Birmingham. Band members consist of Kenny Jones- Vocalist, Mike Cook- Guitarist, Brett Hill- Bassist and Jamie Price-Gould –Drummer. We started in the middle of 2009 as SevenDaze but the Vocalist, Guitarist and the Bassist have been playing together since 2003, being in various bands that just haven’t worked out. Before SevenDaze was formed we were left without a drummer for months still going down to practice to keep the spark alive for our ambition to make and create music. As months passed that spark was dwindling and started to realise is there any point carrying on and that’s where Jamie comes into play and saves the day.
We currently have a 3 track demo which was recorded at the Birmingham conservatoire this includes our recent single your dead which we on sale as a hard copy for £2 in person or from our big cartel store http://sevendaze.bigcartel.com.
We had started a fresh and called our name SevenDaze (appalling story behind how we got our name but thought it sounded cool lol) We took a different route with this band and locked ourselves away in our lockup to perfect our sound and have a strong set to start gigging with. At this point we had took in a second guitarist who was a friend of the drummers we thought he would add extra depth to our sound. January 2010 we thought we were ready to show the world what we had to offer and decided to enter Surface Unsigned Festival and Live & Unsigned Festival in both competitions we had reached the regional finals we were stoked to have progressed so far. After reaching the second stages of the Surface Unsigned Festival Competition our second guitarist decided to part ways and leave the band.
This brings us up to present day where we have chosen to stay as a four piece and feel it was the right decision. We have worked with Emma Scott giving us the chance to play alongside bands such as Killing for company, Marc Malone and Attica rage. We have recently done our first headlining slot at the actress and bishop which went down so well the promotions company named us superb. We have also decided it is time to take our sound further afield and start doing gigs outside of Birmingham our first gig is held in Worcester for Oxjam organised by Lisa Nash with the second gig being held in Leicester which is an audition to play glastonbudget in 2012 which later bagged us a slot for the festival so they thought we were that good they created a fourth stage to showcase more bands, we were one of the bands that made them that decision.
Sevendaze have just finished the Citroen Big Gig final competition which we have finished second in only ten votes behind the winner. We have gained so much recognition from being a part of this. Due to this we was in this weeks (29th September) Roadrunner Records Sign Me to newsletter promoting that we were one of the six best unsigned acts of the week.
We have recently headlined Emma Scott’s Xmas presents gig which was held at the hare and hounds and bagged ourselves 4 gigs for 2012 before 2011 has ended.
Our style of music is Nu-metal and just trying to play the music each band member loves and show the world the genre isn’t dead. The bands that influence us are Papa Roach, Deftones, Linkin Park, Incubus.
