- About Me
- Nordic Daughter is more than just a musical project it is an experience in variety, acceptance, love and logic. The musical concepts behind the music build a sense of intimacy with the audience that can only be described as genuine and authentic. The vocal stylings of Melissa Lycan are unique yet classic and the songs she delivers are heart felt and blended. The project began in 2013 after years of working in the music business the members chose to write the first versions of the songs ready to be produced in the studio. Soon to be released the first EP “Voices of our Past” in 2017.
The husband and wife team Jason and Melissa Lycan make up have been writing for years. Melissa has compiled thousands of poems written over the course other life and Jason has been building unique melodies for 30 years. The duo are passionate and focused on writing music that inspires people to be better and do better than they ever have before. Nordic Daughter’s main focus is to tour the world teaching children and other musicians how to write music as an outlet for their own voices. “Anyone can find their voice,” Melissa elates, “some people just sound more like a drum or a guitar string rather than a lyric.”
Jason Lycan has played music in several bands playing stages with artists like TRAPT, THC, FLAW, HED PE, ONE EYED DOLL, SALIVA and more within the Hard Rock community. He is endorsed by Talon Pics in Denver, CO and continues to pursue a wide range of musical endeavors. Melissa Lycan has been composing music on Piano since she was 13, changing to voice when her heart opened up to it at 21. She has promoted several large festivals and has managed business for artists like: Rachel James, A Memory Down, Random Hero, Firefall, Novus Folium, LaRissa Vienna & the Strange, Sam Hozdulik and Applebutter Express. Her ability to reach social media and radio audiences adds strong promotional and business edge to solid talent.
