- About Me
- Nathan Chikoya (born May 22, 1981) is a singer-songwriter and author based in Choma, Southern Province, Zambia. In 2001 he heeded the Lord's call to serve in the music ministry and joined the Living Faith Praise Team at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, New Kanyama and was an active member of the vibrant Youth Equippers Gospel Outreach Missions (YEGOM) praise team. He served in various youth leadership positions until March 2008 when he relocated to Chirundu.
He fellowshipped at Bread of life church international Chirundu and in 2011 joined the worship team. He ministered at various church and interdenominational functions. In the same year he finished recording his first album titled Limbikira.
His passion for music saw him collaborate many times with local musicians and ended up forming a group with Chimutobe Mwale called Today’s Youth. He worked closely with the Base Entertainment Studios; a relationship which gave birth to the album Iseni kuli Lesa by Ambassadors of Christ under the New in Christ label (Now called Opambana Enterprises).He was also treasurer for the inaugural Chirundu Gospel Artists United group which was formed in 2012.
The title track Limbikira was No.1 on the Reverbnation charts for Gospel category (Zambia region) for various periods between 2011 and 2012.
Nathan and fellow Christian musician Mwape Chileshe teamed up and did a double album launch at Pentecostal Holiness Church which sparked a revival in gospel music in the area.
In 2013 Nathan finished his second album titled Sisabelo but could not launch it because he had to relocate to Choma. While adjusting to the new town, Nathan’s was graced with the ability to pen his first Christian book titled ‘I’m possible’ which is currently under production by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, USA.
He has worked with producers such as Santos (Alli Music), Aaron Sakati Phiri aka Rays (SoundPack), Kapalu Kahumuna (Virtuous Sounds), Richard Antonio (Gsounds) and Isaac Pro (The Base Entertainment).
The evangelistic single Ndapeza moyo is featured on One Gospel while other videos have featured on Prime TV, Muvi TV, Africa Unite, TBN Zambia and Mobi TV.
“When asked on music awards he said, “He would gladly receive an award, but he adds, “The greatest and ultimate award I can ever receive is to hear testimony from people that they have given their lives to Jesus Christ and are being blessed after listening to the music.”
He is currently serving as a deacon at Bread of Life Church International Choma District branch.
Nathan is married to Judith and they are proud guardians and parents of two boys and a girl.
