Lendon James is a shining new star that's changing the music industry standard of what an artist/ musician/ performer should be.
James has a B.A. in Communication Studies from Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). Over the years, James has had the pleasure of appearing as an opening act and host for numerous concerts and other events. His unorthodox talents have placed him in, on and around some of the country’s leading stages, bars, clubs and universities with some of the world's leading entertainers. He has performed on the same bill which such artist as Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Rick Ross, T.I., Jadakiss, Monica Brown, Juelz Santana, Kelly Price, Travis Porter, Soulja Boy and Tank to name a few. James musical influences includes Michael Jackson, David Ruffin, Prince, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding Jr., Marvin Gaye, Joe (Thomas), Carl Thomas, Brandy, Johnathan “JB” Baker, John Legend, Jackie Wilson; as well as Gospel artist such as Doc McKenzie, Tonex, J Moss, David N. Patterson (D.N.P.), Donald “Quack Quack” Davis and many more. He credits his style to studying these music icons (among others) to create his own unique and personal sound and style.
Lendon James is a true artist, singer, songwriter, producer, musician, performer and entertainer who takes pride in playing instruments and writing his own material while perfecting his smooth, yet powerful vocal arrangements. In the song, “I’ve got my music,” from Marvin Gaye’s 1989 double-album, Midnight Love and the Sexual Healing Sessions, Gaye sings,”…music is the SOUL of a man.” And with those words, the life sequence of Lendon James was initiated.
