About Me
Kimberly Torres has lots of life experience to write about. She was born in Alabama but spent the better part of her childhood moving around her home state of Louisiana with a couple of stops in Texas along the way. By 1995 she had moved over 16 times and experienced more than most do in an entire lifetime. In school she found her passion early, music, and it was evident to everyone that knew her. She studied several vocal styles in high school, including opera, and excelled at them all. She was also a versatile actress and performed in several school and community theater productions. After graduation, she moved more but kept singing. She briefly performed with a few cover bands in Louisiana, but stopped to raise children and focus on her career.
After a few failed relationships, lots of soul searching, the loss of close family members, finally discovering the love of her life, and moving to the Dallas area, Kimberly finally decided to pursue her love for music full time. In 2007 she joined On the Way as the lead singer and began performing throughout the metropolis at venues such as The Glass Cactus, The House of Blues, Reflections and Filthy McNasty’s. Performing on a regular basis helped hone Kimberly’s stage presence, create a fan base, and develop her skill for song writing. With a back story like hers she had more than enough material to draw on and write about and in September of 2010 she penned and recorded what became her first single, “Everything You Ain’t”. On The Way eventually became Afterdark a pop/dance cover band that allowed Kimberly to perform every genre of music from Michael Jackson to Lady GaGa, and helped her realize that performing her own music is what she was called to do. In June of 2011 Kimberly competed and placed 2nd in the 1st annual Stage Baron’s song writer contest and was afforded the opportunity to record her first album. She spent the summer writing and the result was worth the effort; each song tells a different story that all seem to tell her story. In September, Kimberly recorded 9 original songs at Studio 333 located at the KE Bushman’s Cellar in Bullard, TX, left the world of pop, and is now fully devoted to performing as an original Texas Country artist. Kimberly’s music is eclectic much like her and includes everything from traditional country 2-steps to bluesy rockers and soulful ballads.
Whether performing acoustically or with a full band,Kimberly brings a contemporary edge to the traditional country band. Mixing in popular country, dance, rock music, and of course her original music; they deliver a high energy performance that keeps the dance floor packed and fans wanting more!

Valley Of That - "Rains"

I'm 24 year old musician from the DMV. I grew up singing in competitive choirs but switched to rap and pop, I've been writing and singing for 6 years, I'm starting a new project based on indie/folk blended with hip hop called Valley of That. "Rain" is about a girl I broke up with because she was hard to get along with, but I didn't really want to. Valley Of That ·…See More
