John Sherman is a Lead Guitarist, Recording Artist, Songwriter and Lyricist from Chicago IL and Executive Producer of Grave Raven. He has been playing guitar for over thirty years as a student, teacher, performer and “Hired Gun.” John has carved out his own unique style by weaving fluid technique with a keen sense of melody and emotional depth. John’s playing has received many commendations over the years and recently was profiled on internet publications from The United States, Russia and The United Kingdom. In late 2012 John started an ambitious recording project entitled Grave Raven. In early 2013, with stellar support from Chief Engineer/ Production Team Leader Mike Vujasin, Session Drummer Andy V, and Guest Vocalist Creia Wraith, Sherman’s Grave Raven released two singles: “We Believed" and “In Your Eyes,” both of which were very well received on the internet by music fans from over the globe. The following year, a five song demo was completed highlighted by Goth/Rock ballads “Crowns of Thorn” and Funeral Portrait,“ along with the hard hitting "Night Stalker" showcased John’s haunting melodies, dynamic guitar leads and often brooding lyrics. The EP/demo has drawn interest from a major label, a Grammy Award nominated producer and representatives from both television and film industries, with singles “Night Stalker” and “The Shed” being considered for a new television series set to begin in early 2016. John has composed several more songs for Grave Raven and is seeking a new Guest Vocalist. Future releases are sure to display excellence in songwriting, production and performance.
