About Me
My name is Garnett Ray Hall Jr., other wise known as "Garnett" or simply "Gee". I was born in Chicago, Il on may 17th of 1993. At the age of 6 my grandmother had taken on the responsibility of raising me thus her, my grandfather and I traveled along the western states of America in search of a better place to live away from the notoriously known crime infested city of Chicago. We eventually settled down in a mostly white populated trailer park on the east side of Las Vegas, NV. Growning up I was influenced by everything around me from the drug abusers, racists, drug dealers, pimps, prostitutes, gangsters, street hoodlums, skaters, street gamblers, friends, teachers, class room peers and last but not least, my grandparents. growing up was difficult for me to say the least. My father was incarcerated and my mother was back in Chicago living her life( Not that id even really known who she was at the time anyway). Most of the times I was teased at school because of my eccentricities and semi-animated demeanor. I was always the outcast, the one that people over looked or treated badly simply because they could and i would allow them to because of my kind hearted nature. Academic wise i was an exceptionally bright student but had little to no interest in many of the topics i was taught coming to find out a lot of those same topics came in handy later on in my life. I picked up my talent for drawing at age 4, i had A's straight in any school and in every grade when in came to art, i was literally a child prodigy; potentially the next "Leonardo De Vinci". I started writing poetry at age 12 around the time my grandparents started fighting more regularly, bills werent being paid on time because of my grandparents gambling addiction and I had discover depression for the first time in my life. I was very well known but had few friends, I didnt speak much to people, never found it necesary unless I needed to and if i wasnt outside being a juvenile delinqent i was in my room reading books on phycology, social studies, history, playing video games, drawing or writing poetry. At the age of 14 my grandmother fled to Chicago with me leaving my grandfather and old life back in Vegas. Coming back to my birth city was a difficult adjustment. There i was still an "outcast" but this time even amongst my own family. I started to involve myself in criminal activity in order to gain respect from my peers and family, I even lost my virginity sooner than I wouldve wanted because certain family members would pick at me for never have been engaged in sexual intercourse. I started experimenting with drugs soon after i started selling them. I also developed an interest in hip hop music. Prior to than my favorite music was jazz with all due credit from my grand father. I endured many trails finding myself as a person and a young man and learning to adjust to these new people in this new world,"Chicago" and again ironicly enough I was born here. around 18 I dropped out of high school due to arrogance and impatience. Later realizing it was a huge mistake. I figured my life was spiraling out of control and i was doomed but then i thought to myself.....Hip Hop.

Valley Of That - "Rains"

I'm 24 year old musician from the DMV. I grew up singing in competitive choirs but switched to rap and pop, I've been writing and singing for 6 years, I'm starting a new project based on indie/folk blended with hip hop called Valley of That. "Rain" is about a girl I broke up with because she was hard to get along with, but I didn't really want to. Valley Of That ·…See More
