- About Me
- A 24 year-old Canadian Pop singer/songwriter from Toronto, ON.
Since a young age, Djazel has always nurtured her love for music. She began singing since she could speak, and played a variety of instruments growing up including the recorder, flute, viola and piano. Djazel performed in different musical choirs and bands at school. At age ten, she participated in the Kiwanis Music Competition with her elementary school. In high school, she was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her supporting role in the Greek Dionysus Festival.
Djazel began teaching herself the art of songwriting three years ago and found that she had a natural knack for it. This motivated her to invest into some recording equipment and production software in order to test her musical talent and capabilities.
In April 2013, Djazel crossed paths with CEO Steve Clarke of Clarke Records online through a mutual acquaintance. Djazel contacted Steve Clarke and sent him two short demos which she had recorded herself. Steve Clarke immediately invited Djazel for a meeting where he recorded another demo, and one of Djazel's original songs ("The Hurt"). Feeling that she had enough talent and potential to join the music industry, Steve Clarke invited Djazel to join the Clarke Records family with open arms, to which she happily accepted!
In nine months, Djazel's hard work and determination in the music industry has allowed her to release a single, a Christmas EP, a mix tape, and a self-titled album. Keep an eye out for what this girl has in store for us next!
