- Winners of the Nova Scotia leg of the 2011 Rogers Battle Of The Bands presented by Supernova.com, placing 3rd in the National Finals, and set at the top of the Reverbnation Rock Charts for Halifax Nova Scotia for 28 weeks straight, Dali Van Gogh have been on the path to success since before even entering the regular gig circuit.
The band had it's beginnings in the fall of 2008, when long time musical partners Isaac Kent (guitar) and Megan MacKenzie (bass) met up with the young talented drummer, Nason Scribner. Nason's value to the band was extremely apparent at the first audition, and the group then began work finding the right voice to front the powerful hard rock trio.
That voice came in April of 2010. After spending more then a year and a half with various singers, and playing the odd gig, Isaac came across a YouTube video of an unknown singer covering the now classic Chickenfoot hit Oh Yeah. Being super impressed with the vocalist, he decided to look him up, and wouldn't you know it the guy was in his city. A few phone calls, a couple of well worded emails, and one hell of an audition later, Marcel McNeil had joined Dali Van Gogh, and the four piece immediately set about writing their first album.
While still in studio in the summer of 2010, working on their debut release, Verbal Warning, Dali Van Gogh was contacted by 272 Records out of Hollywood California to be part of the Label's compilation album Kill City Vol. 27. Submitting their song The Demon to be part of a multi-national release featuring bands from Germany, Italy, Hungary, Sweeden, Switzerland, and France, the record can be purchased direct from the band via www.myspace.com/dalivangogh, or from www.amazon.com.
Recently there have been a few changes in Dali Van Gogh, the most exciting of which is the additions of our new Drummer SEAN SAWLER, and our new Bassist SCOTT TURNBULL to the lineup. Experienced and well versed in many styles/genres of music, Sean and Scott have already proven to be a great additiosn to the band and have seamlessly melded into DVG's already well developed sound. WELCOME GUYS!!!
