I started UBO MAG (UndergroundBeatOnine) in 2001, as one of the first online music magazines (or as I call it an e-zine) that dealt with music, the arts and culture in California at the time. Since then, I have built a network and along with my educational background in journalism and work experience in hospitality and catering, I organize events, help artists and small businesses with public relations and business marketing.
I am looking forward to meeting some great people on this page and hoping to network and work with some of you out there!
If you are interested in joining UBO MAG as a writer, photographer, marketing/advertising we would like you to reach out to us. If you are an artist, have an independent business or offer services to those in the entertainment business (DJs, producers, etc), we want to work with you too! Please email us at: email@example.com.
How did you hear about us?
I learned about this awesome website through Vanessa Morgan!!
What is your profession (singer, rapper, songwriter, poet, dancer, model, music fan, etc.)?
I am a journalist, a poet, writer-in--general, I have a passion for music and making beats (hey, if you have a keyboard or a beat machine, I might just jump on it!) I also am an avid lover of the arts as illustration was one of my early passions when I was a kid.
How many members are in your band?
UBO MAG has had up to 20 staffers helping to write, assign stories, take pictures, edit photos, layout the magazine, design the website, help distribute, marketing and advertising as well. Currently, we are looking to build with the MAG and the multi-media services we offer.
What is your style of music?
My first musical love is HipHop and then after that it is all about the funk and the old skool. I listen to a variety of music spanning HipHop to Indie Rock, Punk-Rock to Folk to slam poetry!
Who are your influences in the music industry?
These are my influences as a writer, journalist and entrepreneur: Hunter S. Thompson, Toni Morrison, Lois Lane, Suga-T
