When Puppies Dream.

Puppies dream 
of belly rubs
long tongue scrubs
and mother's nubs
going glub,glub,glub
glub, glub, glub,glub
filling tummies
with milk's flood

Tucked beneath 
each dreamy face
are butterflies 
yet to be chased
and shoes untied 
with chewed up lace
and balls that roll 
most every place

Plus Pee control 
or pay the tolls
and if one poops
God save its soul
from noses tapped
with newsprint rolls
but if one knows
just where to go
they spend their time
wetting grass or snow
then back through doors
begging for more
 licking floors clean
of yummy treats
fresh from the store

Plus sunny days
outside to play
with chances to
just run away
tiny only for
a little while 
when puppies dream 
they make
me smile 

These five sweet
Welsh Corgis asleep
they all love kids 
and chasing sheep
there's 
"Buttons" "Patches," 
"Kibbles," "Bits",
and one that
I just call "Nitwit"
cause he's a wee bit 
slow but sweet
and now my Corgi 
poem's complete.
